Do people ever get on your nerves?

I'm just back from a holiday in Ireland. We spent it with my mom and dad and then my sister, her two kids and little pet dog joined us for a few days. It's an awful thing to say but even though I enjoyed myself I was relieved to be back home yesterday to the piece and quiet. This made me worry. Am I not a people person or is it normal to get fed up of a crowd after a few days. I'm used to spending most days on my own here in Germany and am now worried that this has become a bad thing. What do you think? :-3

Always, and it only takes a few minutes usually.

Well, you say you enjoyed the visit so I wouldn't worry too much. If you'd hated it and couldn't get away fast enough - THAT would be a cause for concern. As it is, there's no place like home, your own mug, and your own bed!
Do you speak German? Can you get out more if you are worried you are becoming anti-social?

I am sorry Jenny but I am the complete opposite with family.
As we all live some miles apart, I actually cry when It Is time for them or myself to leave and get busy arranging the next meet.
I work with my brother and have been laid up for a week. Already I miss being with him and can not wait to get back. We have a very close special relationship... one of those where you can just look at each other and start giggling but no-one else knows what the heck you're laughing at.
Having said that... last Christmas we had some friends of my husbands to stay and I could not wait to see the back of them. If I remember correctly, I even put a thread on about how guilty I felt after they had left because It was such a relief when they were gone and I could go back to wandering around the house In my Bra and pants.
My sister died of breast cancer and after she went very soon after my Parents, I no longer see the Irritating things and I just cherish every moment.

It just depends upon the family. I miss my family, but then I am far away and only see them a few times a year.

Just certain individuals, particularly those that constantly run off at the mouth with meaningless chatter, oh, and drama queens, they really get on my nerves.

Right now, I'm pretty fed up with several family members. Got a good mind to move and not tell anyone where I went.

A wise friend once told me that we can choose our friends, but we get no choice about our families. But there does seem to be a certain amount of "so there!" about your response. I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with your family, and that you are having trouble sleeping. It's just a thought, but are the two connected in some way?
If you want me to drop this, just don't respond.

Yeah, I stay awake thinking about all that. Even whiskey don't bring sleep. Everything is fine one day and all goes to hell the next. Two sons and a brother are causing all the problems. They won't take any advice and I can't bail them out. Screw it all.

Of course peeps get on your nerves...thats life and then you put them on ignore here. Been to Ireland myself but I'm more of a people person, love to chat, etc. and have loads of friends. I too can shy away on occasion but very rarely, but I do like my mornings super quiet, need to only hear the birds, cicadas and crickets instead of 3 kids begging for money:wah:
