Parents Find Son's Body After Police Leave Scene, Tow Car
Authorities Never Notified Parents

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- The parents of a teenager killed in a car crash said they found his body 13 hours after authorities towed away the car and left the scene without ever notifying them.
Rick and Jeannette Walsh say they followed a trail of their son's belongings and found the body in brush less than 15 feet from the Southern California crash site.
A preliminary autopsy has shown that 18-year-old James Walsh died in the Sunday crash or soon after. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department said the victim was thrown through the car's window.
The Sheriff's Department is investigating why two deputies and a community service officer failed to find the teenager. The parents said they learned the car had crashed from a tow truck company after their son failed to return home.
