I re-started my computer, for some reason firefox said it was performing a new schedule....or something like that.

I have lost all of my bookmarks, files, photos, uploads from photobucket etc.

I went into 'tools' & 'history' and found nothing to help me restore everything.

I don't have a backup system in effect.

does anyone know how to restore when something like this happens and why would firefox do this?

Doesn't surprise more often a complete shut down is recommended when you have problems, a restart doesn't alway get you back to a fresh state.

Has the event unnerved you sufficiently to do anything about this? If your hard drive dies overnight you'll either have it covered or you'll really not get anything back.
