The problem in Greece is a currency issue.

Unless in your mind its got to be an immigration issue, then it is because perception is reality.

Its really not though.

Its a currency issue.

I think you'll find that the rioting is down to the government freezing civil servants pay till 2014 and cuts in pensions due to the country's debt.

Your article relates to 2008, this is 2010.

O.K. Hoppy. How do you think immigrants caused the financial crisis in american banking?

Maybe if americans started rioting and setting fire to banks your political elite might take notice. Except you can't because your police would probably open fire on the protesters and there is always the national guard to call in if that fails. Do you think the americam military would open fire on their own people?

You've sold your liberty for an illusion of freedom and liberty and blame all those who object and want a fairer society and immigrants instead of the people that conned you. You've been shafted by your own political elite and all you can say is give me more. Maybe it's an american 21st century version of the Stockholm syndrome where you all want to wallow in misery while throwing stones at the ones who won't join in.

Yours isn't doing so well either and you don't have the EU to help you out.

Thank God for that. Wait 'til euro countries start going down like dominos.

It amazes me how Europeans can invade a hemisphere, destroy paradise and engage in genocidal murder entire groups of natives, use the Doctrine of Discovery to deny sovereignty to indigenous people that are sequestered onto dismal reservations, and then watch them complain about 'immigrants.'

The hypocrisy of the people whining about the influx of people from the south of the border is incredible.

We need an amnesty program that allows immigrants who are here working and being productive the option to become citizens, returns criminal elements and problematic people, and generally those whining need to stop picking on newcomers who are easy to scapegoat and man up to taking on those wanting natives to fight new workers to distract attention from the well monied and influential business leaders who enticed people in in the first place.

They did it to use Machiavellian tactics to lower wages and benefits to increase their take of the economic pie at the expense of workers. Their economic and political influence is large, so people leave them alone and pick on the easy to scapegoat newcomers.

Time to stop being so politically myopic and to wake up to who is the real problem in this issue.
