I don't watch either. Too much to watch! Maybe it's DVR time.

Kerry does ``The Daily Show'

- MARY DALRYMPLE, Associated Press Writer

Tuesday, August 24, 2004

(08-24) 16:45 PDT NEW YORK (AP) --

As Kerry launched into one of his lengthy monologues about why President Bush avoids talking about issues like the economy, jobs and the environment, the comedian interrupted.

"I'm sorry," Stewart said. "Were you or were you not in Cambodia?"

Stewart and Kerry then lean in and stare each other down over the comedian's desk before Stewart asks about some of the other things Kerry's opponents are saying about him.

well, consider the source.

stewart didn't stammer. he's an excitable person, and he just trips over his words because his mind is going four steps ahead of his mouth. he wasn't tongue tied with president clinton.

i think some of it was a concern/desire to keep things lively, since kerry is such an absolute snoozer when he speaks.

has anyone seen that new one Desperate Housewives-is that the right name? I usually work at nite but it looked good. What about that one about the plane crash and people left on the island-has that started yet? That looks good too-guess I better get some blank tapes!

so far i really like 'Lost', the one with the plane crash on the island. it's showing in Hi-Def and it's really stunning. too early to say if the momentum will hold up, but the premiere and following episode were engaging.

Paul-when did it start? Gosh I wish I taped it-Let me know if it is worth taping after a few episodes. I want to know what the Mystery on the Island is-I am a fanatic mystery reader, since I was 10-starting with Nancy Drew! I haven't read much since my grandson's birth and he lives with me. Every now and then I am able to read a book but takes me weeks-I remember I read Juraissic Park in 4 hours!

used to be. the first three or so seasons were incredible. once the principal screenwriter left - aaron sorkin - the quality of the scripts went to hell. it is just now beginning to get back some of the 'feel' of those first few seasons, but it still lapses into stuff that just wouldn't have been a part of the old west wing - for example, the asteroid-about-to-destroy-earth tangent in last night's episode.
