From the previews, this series looks to be an interesting take on American history. Any one else plan on watching?

Yes, I'll watch it. Thanks for the link. I'm hoping it's on the History channel 'cause I can't find anything to the contrary.

Episodes in the next 2 weeks

Wednesday, Apr 28, 8/7c Rebels: TVPG

Saturday, May 1, 10/9c Rebels: TVPG

Sunday, May 2, 9/8c Westward: TVPG

Wednesday, May 5, 8/7c Westward: TVPG

Sunday, May 9, 9/8c Civil War: TVPG

Hubby had to watch Holmes on Homes on HGTV, so I missed it last night. Also, the episode ended at 11 pm, and I have to get up early for work the next day. I did manage to watch a small part (during HGTV commercial time) and I liked what I did see. So, as shown above, I do have other opportunities to see the program.

Hey Diana,

I taped the program last night and hope to watch it within the next day or so.

I told my work mates, and they'll be watching it also. Thank you....we didn't know about it until you posted a link:-6

My friends have been watching "Pacific." I didn't know about this series until today. They're showing a 7th episode now.

I did watch the first episode last night. Some scenes were visually stunning. The sporadic comments were a slight distraction. Most of the dates and places I already knew...but not all. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next episode. :)

I'm really looking forward to watching it Along. I have it on tape...and also have the DVD "West Side Story" so I will have a nice weekend catching up on videos.

Thanks again for letting us know about "The Story of US."

I watched the 2nd episode Sunday night. It has some gorgeous photography. I found this episode to be of particular interest to me, as it mentioned the following people and events linked directly to my ancestry: Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, The Cherokees & The Trail of Tears and what life was like for the pioneers. My grandmother lived through one freezing cold winter in a covered wagon in western Kansas, before leaving at the end of February to go to her mother's house 200 miles distant to have her first baby.

The numerous commercial intrusions make you want to purchase the DVD when it comes out.

I think Lincoln was taller than he was portrayed on the episode.
