Olive oil is one of the best natural treatments you can use for dry skin. It is a light and mildly antibacterial oil, very much like the oil produced by our sebaceous glands. Most people don't even cook with olive oil let alone slathering themselves with it at a whim

It prevents constipation too. How else can Italians eat so much cheese and not be constipated all the time?

Yes, but twice as expensive and most people couldn't care less about health. At least this is my observation in America. Quite frankly American cuisine is molded around convenience and bioengineering for more mass as apposed to quality as well as longevity of shelf life to the point they become riddled with cancer.

Health classes should be emphasized far more than history in my mind, if time is of an issue in regards to life :yh_eyerol

And never, ever use hot water. Use mineral water to freshen your face.

My wife has used olive oil on her skin for years and if she runs out will use vegetable oil as a substitute. She has none of that orange peel skin from using a method her grandmother used which is to dip a sponge in suger then olive oil and scrub whilst in the shower once a week.

You know what's weird? My mother used to put one drop of olive oil in my eyes when I went swimming when I was young. Its completely safe and it keeps the chlorine from getting to you! It's like a chlorine force-field!:D

Bacon grease.

A good grade of olive oil is the only oil that I use for cooking as well as in salads (along with balsamic vinegar). Occasionally I will use canola oil.

I do sometimes, but rapeseed oil is much better and healthier.

Use olive oil and a little sea salt makes a great scrub for your feet. Hands, too. I use the straight oil to take off mascara.

I use olive oil almost exclusively for cooking and canola for baking. Most of my friends do too. And olive oil as a facial cleanser.

They should take some of the BP Petroleum execs and swath them in BP oil from the Gulf of Mexico to keep their skin supple.:wah:

So its ok as a lubricant then?
