does anyone remember 16oz. GLASS bottle mountain dew? or Pepsi? of all the things i miss from my youth, i think i miss glass bottle pop the most.

how on earth could i forget saturday morning Cartoons??!!? they were the best. oh, the good ol' days

I miss "The Dukes of Hazzard", as dorky as that sounds. I just couldn't wait all week for Friday night to roll around so I could drool over Bo and Luke Duke!



Followed by Dallas and Friday Night Videos (got to stay up late). There was no MTV for me back then and I could only get my music video fix by watching that show.

Double Feature Movies with extra feature cartoons and newsreel

little wax tube candy with juice inside. i liked the feeling of chewing on the wax until it lost all the flavour.

the little comic books that had small pics in the upper right corners of the pages so when you flipped the pages really fast it would make a simple animation come to life.

Opening a bar of chocolate without having to take off layers of wrapper & having a wrestling match with it!

I miss being able to ride a bike for hours...without my butt bones hurting so badly. How did I ever do that??????

I miss candy necklaces. Little round candies on a elastic string that slips over your head like a necklace. Those kept me entertained for hours.

Not only do I miss these things but the existing sweets available don't taste the same and are WAY TOO SMALL

pull ring cans! Yeah, I know they polluted, but I still liked them. You felt like you were pulling the ring on a grenade every time you pulled one.

LC - I miss my Dad too, terribly. :-1

Does anyone here remember "Thingmakers"? You had this hotplate and molds and stuff called "goobledy goop" You filled up the mold, heated it until it changed color and then you peeled out the thing and had a fun rubber toy for yourself!

They had "Creepy Crawlies" expansion mold packs, and "Picadoos" which were great. Just square molds that you could use to create larger patterns. I even had a "shrunken head" mold!

The blasted thing was ridiculously dangerous, though. I don't think I ever played with it without getting burned at least once. It's pulled off the market now.

Or how about the little remote controlled helicopter that was attached to a boom? What was it called? rescue copter? No...I can't remember...but I remember

Spelling probably is'nt right but it was a flavoured sherbity powder in a tin that you mixed with water to make a kids drink. Foamed all over the place. I miss the store here called Spurgeons - you use to buy candy by the pound and before you went to the movies you would get some and put it in your moms purse and go...It was so good...How about double features at the drive in - sitting in the lawn chairs to watch them in the back of a pickup truck! JAWS and PORKEYs - my first ever Rated movie and now that seems like a cartoon to these kids...:

the Soda Fountain store in a small town called Rolfe Iowa - pop. maybe 400 LOL but the best Ice Cream ever anywhere! the twirling bar stools and how they would talk about my dad going there when he was little...

But most of all - not unlike LC.......My DADDY - hands down....:-1

naw. Gramma was fine with us keeds raising Cain. so long as we did it Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out back behind the stand of pines and the barn.

I miss roller skating all day long, up and down the street. Bugging the boys, chasing after them.

Jumping rope.

Hopscotch.

Chinese jump rope.

Going barefoot all day long.

I miss just being a kid - being able to just do 'stuff' with having a care in the world!!

I also miss chicken crackles ... and the cute boy that used to buy me a packet at lunch every day!!

The sounds of kids playing in the street....unfortunately

a. they can't because they'd get run over

b. they wouldn't be able to play without screaming, crying and serioulsy hurting each other

c. TV, mollycoddling and play stations have sucked the creativity out of them

d. Parents are too scared of perverts to let their kids play outside
