i have always loved the classic British comedies, some of my favourites include ab-fab, thin blue line, fawlty towers, 'allo 'allo, vicar of dibley, and i just bought blackadder ll and lll....the writing in these shows was superb, and the acting wonderful. what talent all around! if forced to choose only one, it would be vicar, the characters in that village are perfection, from what demented minds did they spring? :wah: .....saturday night in my area is Britcom night on PBS, then sunday we have masterpiece theater with more British productions. all excellent. i wish i got BBC. ~~~do you have any favourite British shows or scenes from the shows?

Red Dwarf, didn't think much of it at first but it kind of grows on you, maybe a bit off the wall for US tastes. Little Britain same thing, didn't get it at first.

Til death us do part, Alf Garnett was a diamond geezer.
Monty pythons flying circus, this parrot is no more sketch.
Fawlty towers, the episode that Basil Fawlty whipped his car with the branch.
Also the way anagrams were made out of the sign in the opening titles, funniest one that always stuck in my mind was "Flowery Twats"....:wah:

We don't get the comedies mentioned above, but we do get and sometimes watch "Keeping up Appearances" on Saturday nights. Some of the "inside" British humor we don't get, but for the most part overall we like the program.
