My son-in-law is going to Afghanstan on Sunday. My daughter is into her 8th month of pregnancy. I get to go to Louisiana on Feb. 23 so I can do her birthing classes with her. I never thought I'd be T-girls birthing coach. Brett is very upset he won't witness the birth of his child. He's only supposed to be there 6 months. I thought this was very sad for them. Life in the military.

Ohhhhhh, that's so sad NV...I'm so sorry that your sil won't be home for the birth of the baby. That's wonderful that you're going to be with your daughter for the birth of the baby.
Best love and happiness on the upcoming birth...

Shame he will miss it but let's be honest girls, how much use are men in the delivery room anyway? No offence guys but when push comes to shove i need somebody knowing what i'm going through and helping beside me.
I'm not suggesting for a second Dad's should not be there if they can be or want to be, of course they should.

I am also glad you will be with her. She will need you.
She should also have support from other military wives in the same situation.
Hopefully, Brett will have access to the internet over there and he and your daughter can keep in touch.
Godspeed.
