With Ralph Fiennes playing Heathcliffe....Oh dear! What a wrenching haunted story! Really makes you wonder what the Bronte sisters DID up on those moors! :-2

They were obviously very sensitive to its wild mystery.

They lived intense, repressed lives of the imagination and it all burst out in their writing. Amazing when you contrast that writing with the calm, Augustan certainties of Jane Austen, who was born only thirty years earlier. I think I'm with Rapunzel, at least to some extent. The moorland is cetainly a major character in Wuthering Heights!

I think that story lies very close to a womans soul.
