Once drove this stylish goddess dippy

Until one day it came to pass

I magnetised its sorry ass

And dragged it from my screen still yelping

I do just fine without its helping

The perpetrators should be shot

For programming that hover bot

If ever I get Clippy back

Seriously, Microsoft apparently attached that infuriating irritant to Windows 97- and the reaction was so unenthusiastic that they canned it with the next release.

Whenever I upgrade or buy a new laptop - I find there are a whole swathe of new little things to make me tear out my hair and bang my head against the wall. It's like Mr Gates's cohorts want to somehow advise or second guess everything you do, offer spelling and worse, grammar advice, for instance. Or correct your time zone, rename your children, and realign your chakras... Bugger that.

I am calmer these days. I drink a quiet glass of vino then slowly demolish all those unwanted bits of the new system, till I feel some kind of illusion that I am in charge of my computing experience. :sneaky:
