i am not exactly new here, but i have never been a big part of this site, either. some of you may know me from some other sites where i was more active under this nic and a few others.

my nic suits me just perfectly as i am generally stirring up **** on these forums. those of u who do know me know this all too well, lol. what can i say? i'm blunt and i speak my mind. i am known for having a level of honesty that quite honestly makes people uncomfortable. i have a nasty bite, but i can be a genuinely sweet person if u do not **** me off, lol. ^-^

some of u may know that my mom died when i was a lil girl. i still miss her so much and wish she was still here to see me graduate and become asuccess. i know her spirt is still inside and all around me and that makes me happy. i sometimes wish she had been more open when something was bothering her. i believe that had she done so when she recognized the first signs of her illness, that she could have spent more time with us here. or i might even be able to refer to her in the present tense rahter than the past tense.

after my mom died, i promised my dad that i would always be open with him. there are no closed doors in our home, figuratively and literally--i know u prolly expect an asian home to be all feng-shui, but i don't believe in that ****, despite being Chinese. there are no secrets in my home. i have never seen benefit in keeping secrets. what is the point? secrets stole time i could have spent with my mom. if u expect me to keep secrets, think again! don't say i didn't warn u and don't call me untrustworthy for exposing your secrets if u tell me them. i will call u out as untrustworthy for keeping secrets.

i am biracial--my dad is arab and my mom was asian. both of these cultures are strong in me, but society dictates that we make a choice. i look more asian so therefore i am asian. do not make the mistake of stereotyping me, though. i am not your typical asian.

i am also binational--is there such a word? i was born in Malaysia and my family moved to Canada and then to the US. i am currently completing my education in Chicago and already have a job lined up in California, when i get my final degree. i may be binational, but i am now a proud American. this is the greatest country in the world.

i suppose u are expecting me to say that i am bisexual next? Not a chance, lol! i may be ****** up, but i am not THAT ****** up! i can't even say i am bilingual as i speak three languages fluently so that doesn't work. anyhoo, i believe it's more befitting to leave the bi's at two.

anyhoo, i may not be new, but i do have a new opinion about this forum. i know that there are some good people on here--among all the loonies. i klnow this because i met one of the greatest men of my life on a forum such as this and he is the sole reason why i joined this one. so here i am!!!!

My best friend was just crying to me on the phone as her son is studying medicine. He has to take the "Big test" today to determine if he can move on in the field. If he passes the test, he'll do his residency in Miami...Please keep you fingers and toes crossed for him...Jasus...dunno how he's going to pay for this, especially if he doesn't pass the test:-3 He's smart and should do well;)

She was a bit wicked, but she had every right to say what she said and it was 100% spot on. The best post in a very tasteless thread. Spot's off-topic post in Shel's original thread should have been reported.

She is a good woman. She just wears her heart on her sleeve, but she deeply cares about her loved ones to a fault, if you can consider that to be a fault.

As it stands now, she's not ever coming back (nor will I, as it stands now), the single post, a first time offense from a fairly new subscribing member, somehow incited a permanent ban.

Cheer up ya ol' fart. I'll be around 'til I get banned for some mayhem or other. I had a bad day Monday. Went to my doc. All my numbers were up. Up is bad in my case. He put me on two new meds. Then I had a fight with the drug store when I went to pick them up. Then I read the list of side effects for one of the pills. I'm afraid to take it now.

No Betty, she definitely wasn't a newbie, not in literal terms...but with only 67 posts, that's still a newbie in getting the hang of, and the feel of this forum, and she didn't try to make anyone think anything different in her original introduction. The hatred in the post you are talking about sadly had absolutely diddly squat to do with spots thread. It was a convenient current thread that was there for for her to use.

I will state again she was not a newbie, she had been here before under a different username.

No one wants to see new people go, I'm sorry it happened this way, it is very unfortunate.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Some of what she said was off topic, yet I believe the hatred in spots thread was to intentionally flame and attack me and was no different. I guess I'll have to learn to use the report button instead of just ignoring threads like what spot did to me.

There was absolutely no hatred in spots thread directed at you Shell, I just don't get where that's coming from, he deleted the post he made in your thread as per the instruction in your OP. I don't think it's at all disrespectful to want answers, I actually think we owe it to the dead to find those answers so they did not die in vain.

We are obviously not going to agree on any of this, I'm off to cook tea for my children and take a break from the continuous fighting. I'm very sad that FG has become a warzone with divided factions that can't just even basically tolerate each other or ignore one another when there are such obvious differing points of view. We don't stand in the street and reduce things to a brawl when there are differences of opinion, well I don't anyway, I walk away and save my energy for something worthwhile.

I saw hatred, total disrespect and an "in your face" thread directed at me. As you said, I'm also one to walk away and am able to ignore such ignorance...I was just trying to make a point. I'm not trying to argue with you Betty, we just have a difference of opinion, and if all people could talk it out in a straight forward way without being nasty, as we've been able to do here, then this, and other places, would be a much nicer place.
