I admit it, I am. It's one way to get people to express their feelings and emotions and let the real them come out. Asking what you had for dinner doesn't stir any pots, but if you say "people that like turnips are typically pre-dementia" you will get some interesting response.

I can get people to express their feelings, which can be interesting. For some reason i have the ability to get people to open up and i have heard some quite shocking revelations.

My closest friends always tell me what they feel but that is down to trust and they know that i would never discuss our conversations with anyone else.

I like to disucss politics and religion, you can find a lot about a person with this kind of conversation.

:) This is one of the reasons why you are a valuable member of this Forum

.

I have a problem with a person who stirs the pot, then leaves the pot for others to stir, but, does not return to see if more seasoning is needed. ;)

I think my wife has stirred some poor devils pot recently when she spotted a filthy van and someone had written in the dirt, "I wish my wife was as dirty as this". Oscar added "She is, just not with you". :(

I've no desire to stir any pots. As it is, people have kneejerk and often hostile reactions toward me and my opinions, mainly because they don't bother to try to understand. I don't understand why some people enjoy starting trouble on purpose. A good convo is one thing but why would you just want to start arguments?

Your very similar to my wife Oscar who always stands up for what she believes in and follows it through to the bitter end.

Some things in life are worth letting go but others need to be addressed so people don't think they can walk all over others. :-6

Thank you, Peter Lake. Yes, I like Oscar's way of not letting up, especially about animal issues. :-6 It's hard to hold unpopular opinions sometimes, it kind of wears one down but like you said, some things are worth fighting for. There's a price to be paid for sticking your neck out but I think you gain a multitude of *self* respect.

I guess I can be at times but not intentionally. Well almost unintentionally :sneaky:

I just tend to call a spade a spade and don't always think (or care) what someone's reaction may be to my opinion.

You have been gone for a while Red

A good pot stirrer is never responsible for starting an argument. It's the one's that initially respond that MAY be responsible for starting trouble. Introducing a controversial topic or making a blatant comment is GOOD POT STIRRING. If you really want to know what people really think, get em mad, get the juices flowing. What the hell----you are on the web---who cares?

Pot stirring requires that first there shall be a pot

And second that in that pot there will be something stirrable

-------

The pot of life can bubble merrily away on a back hob, but what if it's starting to catch - and the contents will be spoiled? Does a passerby who gets the whiff of burn grab a spoon and stir???? Does he or she add more liquid?Or just turn off the stove?? What if there is no handy spoon? Should a passerby plunge in a hand and make a clockwise or even anticlockwise motion?

What if it's a cauldron out on the heath and there are three witches muttering double double toil and trouble around it???

He who sups with the devil should use a very long spoon...

Coffee should be black as night and if you add nothing, there should be no need to stir at alll....... coming!!!

:D

PS

If it's a chamber pot, I'd leave well alone.

I'm on your wave-length here Pam. You see, one can have a pot on the halogen plate and one may wonder if one needs to stir intermittently to secure the bottom from catching and producing that faint whiff of acrid unpleasentry. But here is the thing, what if the said vessel does not need intermittent agitation of it's contents? One could be causing one's self repetitive strain injury all for the sake of some Tomatoe soup with a hint of basil and a grated cheese topping. This injury could result in wasting a Doctors time when the pot did not need agitation at all. But then, who can tell? If the heat is of a moderate room temperature, the soup may simmer gently thus not producing that expected acrid whiff. However, one's halogen hob may have been carelessly dabbled with at the switiching on stage thus not only producing the acrid whiff and bottom pan catching but far worse. Oh yes, One's Tomatoe soup with a hint of basil may bubble furiously until foaming over the top of the pot like a creshending surfing wave spilling the contents with a might and fury that would take one a week to remove from the halogen plate.

If it's all the same to you, i'll bung it in the micro-wave. :D

First we use the FG Pot which is a big one. The ingredients of the Pot consist of a mish mash of FG participants of varying caloric and nutritional value. It's best if the Pot is left to simmer rather than boil over and lose content. The pot definitely needs stirring on a regular basis to avoid some of the more soft ingredients from sticking to the sides of the Pot. Seasonings are most important and one must avoid using too much salt or pepper. Periodic tasting is necessary to insure a proper outcome that is readily digestable by all.

A watched pot never boils

A pot with no sparky fire beneath its bottom never boils

Two negatives make a positive

Therefore watch it, or you'll get boils on your bottom.

The tomato and basil soup sounds like a plan !!!

Sir Lancelot: We were in the nick of time. You were in great peril.

Sir Galahad: I don't think I was.

Sir Lancelot: Yes, you were. You were in terrible peril.

Sir Galahad: Look, let me go back in there and face the peril.

Sir Lancelot: No, it's too perilous.

Sir Galahad: Look, it's my duty as a knight to sample as much peril as I can.

Sir Lancelot: No, we've got to find the Holy Grail. Come on.

Sir Galahad: Oh, let me have just a little bit of peril?

Sir Lancelot: No. It's unhealthy.

Sir Galahad: I bet you're gay.

Sir Lancelot: Am not.

I'm trying really really really really really hard not to stir a pot right now because someone else is doing a good enough job. I can't help but feel it's pointed directly at me but whatever.

SOME PEOPLE are just such eyesores.

And, no, MODS, I am not saying anything against any of ya and this has nothing to do with anyone being banned.

But this person is why I left before and maybe why I leave again.

For now, I'm going into catatonic mode and won't be posting for a while. Maybe they'll fk off before I decide to.
