I tweaked my lower back lifting a few weeks ago and came back too early. There is no serious injury but how long do you think I'll have to wait to come back to it? :-5

I would say your doctor and your Physical Therapist (if your seeing one) would be the best judge of that.

don't go back lifting until its completely healed.
try a heating pad for 15 minutes.......several times a day
soak in a hot tub with epsom salts.
walk around and get your muscles loosened..don't lie down all day
if its really bad.....see your doctor.

And ...
Stretch daily within your comfort level.
Be aware of how you lift and twist from now on.

When you can go for Sleeping then you can use the a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. Some doctors recommend lying on your back with a pillow under your knees.Anti-inflammatory medications are helpful in treatment of both back pain and the associated inflammation.

I don't think here we can get that without a perscription, but you can in Canada.

After a few weeks, your back should be fine. If you still have soreness or pain, I would see your doctor. I pull my back out every once in a while but it only takes a few days to get better.
