These ones don't appear to be proper doughnuts, which are nice if made properly; they've got inside, instead of nice red jam, a repulsive yellow substance, looking like congealed pus. Quite a shock. Eurgh.

i was with my youngest daughter,and we went to greggs the bakers

they had 3 caramel do-nuts for £1.20

my daughter was having two and i was having the other,i opened the bag i was starving, i took a massive bite into the doughnut and guess what was in the middle of a caramel do-nut thats right... some horrid cold yellow puss looking like custard ,i shouted aarrrrggh and spat it into the bag close to throwing up my daughter was crying with laughter as was the packed shop ,i ran out into the street to throw up in a bin :-5:-5

Is that what the stuff is? It doesn't taste like custard. I wonder what doughnuts would be like with a squish of (a sweet) marmalade in.....

I bought some custard donuts from morrisons by mistake and binned them.

I've never seen marmalade ones, maybe you could buy plain rings and have a bash.

I was thinking of making some. It might be better to actually mix marmalade in with the dough, replacing the sugar... some experimentation needed. If it's to be squirted in, something sweet and sticky and not very marmalade-like such as "Golden Shred", perhaps.
