I was about to buy some food online. I need some help choosing one of these delicious options.

I just cant decide.

Fresh killed 'possum ain't bad. Some of that other stuff I'd eat. 'Gator, snake etc.

Me too. Its just a cultural thing I suppose, seeing strange food. One mans 'gator is another mans jellied eel.

I'm a bit confused as to why you would need to can a chicken though, in these days of refridgerators and freezers.

Well, they can ham and corned beef. I prefer the meat market stuff though.

I've never been squeemish about what I eat. I love to try things out.

If it tastes good, great I'll have it again. If its foul, it stays off the menu.

I still cant get my head round the picture of "Russian Herring ". Those things have teeth like a dog. Looks like canned chihuahua to me

Canned cheeseburgers, canned hot dogs, canned pigs brains.

I assume these are common items found in UK grocery stores ?

You are correct, it is indeed a tinned chihuahua. There's more at the excellent "English Russia" site (there is sume really *excellent* stuff there):
