A pair of Wedge Tailed Eagles have plonked themselves at the back of my property and it's causing mayhem. I love watching them but the cat is having kittens after being dived upon twice and we cant allow the pigeons out . And they are looking at the dogs now. EEK!!! the magpies and the parrots are having a hard time chasing them off as well.

anyone want to get rid of their young toddlers just bring them here.

Fuzzy, I sure hope they don't decide to nest there. They are beautiful birds but surely will snatch up your cat and dogs if they can.

Hope they head for a different place to roost soon.

not a good place at all for them!......keep your cat indoors!

maybe a hose will scare them away.

They will stay as they have found the best restaurant in town. Cats, kittens, dogs they are in heaven. Keep your animals indoors hopefully they will nest some where else. Might borrow someones really BIG dog to run them off.

Remove your wig before going outdoors. Thats some solid advice right there.

Talking to a farmer last night and it looks like these birds are here to stay.:-3

We usually find them 5 to 15 km down the road but it's all burnt out so they have found our little backyard. If they cause a real nusance then I can call the ranger

How long will it take for the burnt stuff to recover? Interesting q. in your neck of the woods, to me. These birds will eat carrion, won't they?

Yep. You got a crow problem? I'll ship one of the darlings over.

The bush is already rejuvinating ......The kids call the trees "fluffy trees" The trees and ground cover come back pretty quickly but the animals don't, well, not for some time.

Currently I have difficulties with jackdaws and magpies. Next year, these will be dealt with, though. I fear that your wedgie would be at a loose end after dealing with the main vermin.... perhaps become all consuming. Moving wildlife around has some rather unexpected consequences sometimes, as you will know well!

Ta. I'm aware of the effects on eucalyptus, but not details of other things (our (UK) heather has some resilience, too, to make a superficial comparison).

I think our braken fern would be a closer comparison. It's not as soft as heather though . It took around four days for that stuff to come up again. Ya just can't kill it.

I remember looking out across a heathered field in Scotland. gosh it's pretty.

The problem for the eagles is that all the rabbits are gone, and the kangaroos havent really come back yet so there's not even road kill for them to pick at.

I'll get some pics of them .
