I haven't seen much of the states either. Wisconsin, Illinois and Florida is about it. Drove through Kentucky, part way through Missouri, been in the Atlanta airport and Lax. I still would like to see the Grand Canyon and YEllowstone park and stand on a shore in Maine and try their seafood. I stayed on a small island in the middle of Lake Michigian for 9 days. Now that was a treat. Not a motor car in sight except for the golf cart the park service used.

I've always had a longing to visit Georgia and the deep south. I'd love to go to Savvanah and go on a paddle steamer up the Mississippi. The film 'The color purple' really touched me..... I don't know where exactly it was filmed but the settings were awesome.

Virginia looks attractive also. I like the wild open spaces, not the commercialised Florida type holiday.

:) Well, come on over, honeychile. We can put you up for a few days in the guest room. We can sit on the veranda and sip mint julips and smell the honeysuckle and the magnolias in bloom. For supper we'll have fried chicken and sweet potato pie. And on Saturday, we can down to the river and fish in the branch for catfish and have a fish fry Saturday evenin'. :wah:

Seriously, Georgia is a beautiful state. We have mountains in the northwest, and an ocean on the east. Big cities and small towns. Georgia, to me, has alot of breathing room. You can slow down and enjoy yourself.

I would also like to know where in the States Lynn visited.

I have seen some wonderful books on Georgia and the landscapes and it is indeed beautiful. That's one of the things that made me love it. I'm also very interested in the old Colonial history. Do you have museums and the like for me to snoop around? Is it possible for me to run through a cotton field? I have no idea why i want to do that so badly but i do :wah: My husband will love the fishing although he insists that all fish are released:wah:

The fried chicken and sweet potatoe is stirring my taste buds right now.

Went to Orlando Florida this year, done all the Disney stuff, NASA, Everglades etc, everything is bigger, better, and more professional, than anything you would ever find in England, and lovely people too
