Where Am I?

Garden Version

The rules are simple... one member posts an image from GoogleMap and provides three brief clues. The next poster can either ask the original poster a question or take a guess about the location. The poster who correctly identifies the location wins the round and commences the next round by posting a new location of their choosing. This version consists of locations of the world's great gardens.

I'll begin:

Location #1

Clues

1) Secretary of Agriculture

2) Trees

3) When it rains it pours

How do you cheat? I just googled salt and trees then went through the list till I found Salt Island. Is that cheating? I figured the 3rd clue meant salt,

Absolutely correct! I've been there many times and highly recommend anyone to visit who hasn't already.

Location #1: The Morton Arboretum

Clues

1) Secretary of Agriculture ( Julius Sterling Morton was the founder of Arbor Day and Secretary of Agriculture under President Cleveland.)

2) Trees (Arbor Day)

3) When it rains it pours (Joy Morton, son of J.S. Morton, was the founder of the Morton Salt Company in Chicago as well as the founder of the arboretum.)

Your turn YZGI! :D

Try depressing the SHIFT key and the PRINT SCREEN keys consecutively and opening up an image editing program like Photoshop and pasting it into a new file and remove the sensitive details.

What editing program are you using?

Open that up and open up a new file... then take a screen shot of the window that you wish to edit and paste it into the open file, then you can edit it.

That'll work... I'm actually working on a website for a client now and will have that all open for a few hours finishing it up for her.

I can help with that, too...

To take a screen shot and save it as a picture using Windows Paint in XP.

1. Click the window you want to capture. Press ALT+PRINT SCREEN by holding down the ALT key and then pressing the PRINT SCREEN key. The PRINT SCREEN key is near the upper right corner of your keyboard. (Depending on the type of keyboard you have, the exact key names on your keyboard may vary slightly.)

Note: You can take a screen shot of your entire desktop rather than just a single window by pressing the PRINT SCREEN key without holding down the ALT key.

2. Click Start, click Accessories, and then click Paint.

3. In the Paint window, click Edit, and then click Paste.

4. When the image appears in the Paint window, click File, and then click Save As.

5. In the Save As dialog box, in the File name box, type a name for the screen shot, and then click Save.

You can now upload the saved screen shot as an attachment just before you post a reply.

In Windows Vista

1. In Vista (except in Home Basic), there is a tool called the Snipping Tool.

2. To open it, click on the start menu, type 'snip', then hit enter.

3. The Snipping Tool opens, and a white mask is applied on the screen. In the drop-down menu for the 'New' button, choose from a free-form snip, rectangular snip, window snip, or full-screen snip.

4. In free-form snip mode, draw around the area you want to be captured. Drag a rectangle in rectangular snip mode. For window snip mode, select the window you want to capture. In full-screen mode, just selecting it from the drop-down menu makes the capture.

5. The snipped image is then opened within the Snipping Tool, but is also copied to the Windows clipboard for use in other applications.

I e-mailed you the google shot.

[EDIT] One thing, though... I've been at this location just earlier this year and... is there a garden there? This version is for gardens, you know. - G

Hints:

1. Where everything's better

2. Seeds

3. Magic at Christmas
