Have you ever had a scene from a movie have such an emotional effect on you that you never forgot it?

I've had a few, I'm gonna post some of them here but i would love to see some of yours.

I'll do this one first, of course, Gone With The Wind, Scarlett is trying to survive on the plantation after The Civil War and is digging in the ground in the garden trying to find something to eat.

It's always effected me partly because of, that magnificent tree that was in so may scenes and that very emotional musical score.

but this line always had the most effect on me.



"As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again. "

I always thought the opening scene from "Saving Private Ryan" was jaw dropping in its intensity. Battle scenes were normally sanitised so it was good to show how brutal it really was

Carve her name with pride starring Deborah Kerr as Violet Szabo the scene where , as her code poem is heard she is lined up and executed.

Makes me cry every time.

I saw that film again a few months ago and yes the reading of that poem is extremeley touching

The realism in the openind scene of Saving Private Ryan in very intense, it was quite different from what war movies had been before.

I agree, it is very intense.

Another one for me is Titanic, there are quite a few scenes that have stayed with me from that one, in particular ones between Rose and Jack after the ship sank and just before he dies, and of course the scene on the ship where the band is playing Nearer My God to Thee.

But the one that really has the most effect on me is after old Rose finishes telling her story, she states this.

"Fifteen-hundred people went into the sea, when Titanic sank from under us. There were twenty boats floating nearby... and only one came back. One. Six were saved from the water, myself included. Six... out of fifteen-hundred. Afterward, the seven-hundred people in the boats had nothing to do but wait... wait to die... wait to live... wait for an absolution... that would never come. "

Its a classic 50's film about Violet Zsabo who carried out operations for Special Intelligence in occupied france during the War

I quite agree and the first part shoule be shown in all schools to kids to remind them exactly why they are here today.

The scene that sticks with me is from my all all time fav film 'Goodfellows'. A true account of gangster 'Jimmy the Gent' played by De Niro'.

Its that moment in the bar when they are playing cards. Joe Pesche turns to Ray Liotta and says 'what do you mean you think i'm funny?'

Unless you've seen the film you won't have a clue as to why that moment is so jaw dropping.

This scene with Jessica Alba in the movie................in some movie had a profound impact on me.

I love the final scene from The Last of the Mohicans; everything was done perfectly, the music, the scenery, the intensity, the fight, the girl taking her life, the emotion. Amazing.

oh gawd yea....I loved both Kill Bills.

I would have to say the scene from Kill Bill 2 as she was being burried alive in the coffin... OMG didn't you just feel your heart race.

Well I don't think I will ever forget the gut wrenching laughter that was created for me by Adam Sandler and Bob Barker duking it out in Happy Gilmore.

That has to be my 2nd fave moment. We watched Kill Bill two again recently and i just love the way she kicks her way out of that coffin. Closely followed by the moment she snatches 'Daryl Hannah's' eye out in the trailer. Oh and the part where the black mamba leaps out of the suitcase of money. Oh and the moment she performs the 'Five' on Bill and kills him right at the end.

I just watched this again the other day. Every time I watch it I think about how that is one of THE BEST fight scenes I've seen!

Oh good lord I watched both flicks this weekend, yes when she plucked Daryl Hannas eye out was such a cool scene.



Now for humor sake I loved the fights against O'ren (lucy lui) and her gang, especially when she wacked of what's her names arm... very cool.

Morbid but coolest concept flicks around.

Respect to UMA. It doesn't matter how good an actress you can be..... she had to have one heck of a knowledge of martial arts to do those scenes so well.

That reminds me..... the Scene in Pulp Fiction when Uma has had a bad reaction to the cocaine. Travolta drives her to the friends house and he stabs her in the heart with a shot of adrenilin. I just found this on U Tube.

Morbid but coolest concept flicks around. Goodfella's has just reminded me of another heart stopping moment in the film 'Casino' with Pesche and De Niro again. The part at the end where Pesche and his brother are lured to the corn field and then they bury them alive.

Describes in Willi as the 'worst death scene ever'. I can not add a link..... far too grusome however..... didn't Joe Pesche just soooo deserve that one?

another one of my favories, very emotional and i love the music from that movie.......i have the soundtrack actually.

The first time i saw Braveheart, i was wrecked for about a week!



I still cry at the ending of A Color Purple every time i see it, something about her finally being reunited with her sister and her children after all she'd been through, gets me every time i watch it!
