It's worthless if it can't get off the ground or if it does it can't hide. It can't fulfill it's mission. In a war this isn't the best thing we could have on our side. It looks pretty, it's sure cool but man is it of little real world value and a waste of time and money.

Do they really cost $354 million per aircraft?

Holy crap, that is one expensive fighter.

How much do Eurofighters cost, or the new JSF ones?

Thanks for the info dubs!

Pretty expensive as well. But they are still both a fraction of the cost of the F-22, which I am sure is a technical marvel, but if you can't get it off the ground because its in maintenance most of the time, all its going to make is a nice, expensive target in the aircraft hanger for less technologically sophisticated aircraft that are actually up in the air.

A weapon's battle-effectiveness is directly proportional to how often you can actually use it without having to fix it, no matter how advanced it is, as the Germans found to their cost in WW II.
