A discussion began at work yesterday about what would be your ideal job? If you could choose any job in the world, what would it be? I know this sounds morbid, but I would love to be a pathologist.
Or are you already in your dream job? :-6

Raven you can always be an archaeologist, and help out at local digs! Just get the appropriate hat, love Indy's hat.
I would love to be a cruise director on a ship in the Bahamas.........

I am definately not in my dream job. I'm an accounts and quality manager and bored to tears. Its my own fault because I have become complacent and should get off my backside and do something about it

I would build and run my own boarding kennel for dogs. With a small side line breeding Bull Terriers. If that doesn't happen, I'd just like to get back to animal medicine.

Pathologist? Not morbid at all. My first career was as a licensed embalmer & funeral director. I guess I have participated in well over 500 autopsies and admire the info that can be garnered from their work.
I am a MOVIE BUFF and think it would be neat to get paid to watch and review movies. MOVIE CRITIC---In my next life.

Not at my dream job, but my job is a dream and really like it. For life I have always wanted to be a forest ranger. Also a writer and if I were a forest ranger then I could write, right, but then again....I am a procrastinator so the writer part is a bust ahahaha
But am quite happy where I am now

So be it.

Johnny Carson was interviewing an actor, director, writer and asked him what his favorite position was.
He responded prone.
I concur.
I suffer from Huck Finnitis. A fish pole and boat and my passion is fulfilled.

I have always wanted to own a blues bar with lots of pool tables. I love blues music and shooting pool. And it would be a laid back party atmosphere.
2nd choice, anything to do with motorcycles, building, riding, etc. Maybe a test rider for Cycle Magazine.

Having experienced 157 jobs on my life, (kinda makes me sound chronically unemplyable, doesn't it?) I have finally found my dream job. Being a teacher!
Everyday I get to wake up, go to my own private office/room, and wait for the funniest, most enjoyable people to show up ready and waiting for me to tell them stories, jokes, and the mysteries of mathematics. They show me the best movies, and teach me the new music. They are full of life and eternally optimistic. I honestly can't believe I get paid for this sometimes!

My dream job is to be a writer (including poetry) and visual artist. It's good. We can share a dream. I haven't seen you write in the Poetry Forum yet. It's safe, they don't steal your copyright here.

Its really cool to know what all you guys would have loved to be in a ceteris paribus world. As a matter of fact this topic kept me thinking and my final position regarding my dream job is presented thus:
I'd love to be a physicist, contemplating on the Quantum Theory and other abstract branches of physics. When I read about the great exploits of Einstein, Neils Bohr, Max Planck etc, their role in splitting the atom, the discovery of subatomic particles and so on, I get captivated wishing I was operating at the same intellectual platform as them. I've been following with keen interest how modern day physicists like Edward Witten and Stephen Hawking are trying to formulate the Theory of Everything (TOE) using String Theory. They really fascinate me and always keep me wishing I could think as deep as they do.
Unfortunately, advanced Mathematics (the type used by the physicists) is a no-go-area for me so I had to pitch my tent with Agricultural Economics where i finally found my calling.

Exactly my friend, a poorly fed body cannot think deeply, let more split the atom or formulate theories/laws about the origins and functionings of the universe.
