What its like, ever wondered ?

Got mine last night.

Its a party in your face. NOT.

There were 4 of us and we each reacted a little differently.

I myself immediately hit the ground.

Down I went. The 1st sensation was I couldnt breathe. The others were telling me I was breathing but I couldnt feel it in my lungs. I was terrified.

The more I tried to gasp the less air I was getting. Someone was telling me in through the nose out through the mouth and I think I told them to shut up.

I must have started following directions at some point because I kind of got my breathing under control.

Then the 2nd wave hit me. P-A-I-N

Intense pain, the flesh on my face felt like it was melting off, my lips were on fire and my eyes...oh my God...my eyes. I really cant describe the kind of pain I went through as my eyes began to absorb the spray.

I dont know what I was expecting but I couldnt have imagined that kind of pain, no way I could have translated a mental image into reality.

I was thinking this has to stop NOW but realizing it wasnt going to and Id have to ride it out. That sent me into another wave of sheer panic.

It was internal though, I dont think I uttered a word.

I just crouched with my head on the sidewalk trying to figure out how I was going to endure it.

Someone was spraying my face with a water spritzer and feeding me paper towel after paper towel. I wanted the water to help but it didnt. I kept motioning for water but it was useless.

My eyes felt like they were disintegrating and I also remember wondering if this is what hell is like.

Then my head started pounding. My head was the drum and someone was banging it with a sreel mallet. Every thump felt like my skull broke into a thousand pieces. On and on and on and on..........

They walked me inside the building and when the hot air hit my face for a second I wanted to die. That moment I would have gladly taken a bullet.

I was walked upstairs where I washed and rinsed for what felt like eternity.

The only relief I ended up getting was time passing. For me it was a full half hr before I could open my eyes.

Even then just barely.

Almost 24 hrs later I can still smell it and taste it, my head is better but still pounding and my eyes are swollen.

This is some really really bad sh!t.

I'd like to know as well. I know police officers must have the tasers used on themselves in training, so I assume the same would be with the pepper spray. I do remember you saying you were training to be a PD.

Sound like an awful experience, but it sounds like it would work to disable a perpetrator.

All in all, a good day then????

Seriously, were you in training or are you just a sadist??

I accidentally leant on a cattle electric fence once... Jesus Christ i thought i was dying.

Why would you do this??

Ouch, I know someone, out checking his stock one day, climbed up on a hedge, slipped put his hand out to save himself, grabbed an electric fence wire and landed into a water trough... oooppps :yh_rotfl He's still alive to tell the tale and it's hilarious now in hindsight.

I think the moral to this story is that even if you can't enjoy all the aspects of learning a new career, at least your friends can...:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

Yep, sort of.

Not full strength CS spray in training, we had to feel what it's like before we were given it to use on other people.

It made me sneeze lots and I had to spit lots to get rid of the taste, sorry, not an attractive thought!

I was glad it wasn't full strength!!

I make jalapeño relish about 3 times a year for friends and family. Many times I have accidentally rubbed my eyes after cutting hundreds of jalapeños, wow talk about pain. Then one day I went to the restroom and had forgotten to wash hand thoroughly and HOT DAMN!!! about 2 minutes after peeing I was in a freakin cold shower for about a half an hour trying to quell the heat on ole Pete.:wah:
