Here's the first tempting offer.

spot the bookmaker offers 5,000 casino dollars winnings to everyone betting 1,000 casino dollars that the Republicans will have at least 45 senators in the aftermath of Tuesday's election out of the 100 available seats.

Is anyone that incautious?

Let me see if I understood that. You think the Republicans will win but you think me offering better than even odds for your bet is ungenerous? Much less 5 to 1? How do you account for that?

I was getting sarcastic in my old age Spot. You must be sure McCain has no chance to offer 5 to 1. My brother would offer no more than 3's if i know him well enough by now.

I'm delighted. I thought it might be tempting. Okay, if there's at least 45 Republican Senators after the election you'll win 5,000 casino dollars.

Why's the bet on the House of Representatives unattractive?

Well I jumped the gun I think...

I seen the 45 seats and couldn't imagine the Republicans going below it and decided to make the decision to take that bet...

Seeing as how I only have about $1076 casino dollars I'm forced to stick to my bet...

I think the House bet is more to my liking but oh well...

Would you rather swap?

You could have 500 casino dollars on each if you like, spread the risk.

You got the odds from an earlier version of the post, I changed them to what they show now almost as soon as I made the post. They're 12:1 and 10:1 and the presidency is on 15:1.

I heard the equivalent of the Dean Scream this morning. My goodness, John McCain sounded demented.

Don't give up hope. Be strong, have courage, fight for what's right for America. Stand up. Stand up and fight, nothing is inevitable here, we never give up. We never quit. We never hide from history. We make history.

Have I got the general tone right? All he left out was "never apologize".

America needs bars around the country, seriously. How could anyone vote for yet another froth-spittled killer like that?

Splash One.In the first voting of the day, Mr Obama defeated his rival by 15 votes to six in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire. The town, which has a 60-year tradition of being first in the nation to vote, opened its polls at midnight, with turnout of 100%. George W Bush won there in 2004 on his way to re-election. Tuesday's vote was the first time the town had gone Democrat since 1968.

How are your 185 Representatives looking?

We can pass the Senate to adjudication, you need to name your adjudicator.

Well to be honest I haven't really had the time to look into the House elections but I'm currently seeing that there are still 199 Republicans listed as holding their seats...

I'll look into it now...

I'm much too cynical for my own good...

I really didn't think the Republicans would fall shorter than 45 and 185.

Oh well...

Yes you win and you win big!!!!!!!!!...
