And a wolf to lie on the floor.

I remember thay had a place near where I lived in Bedford where they reared a pair of orphan wolves. One year, during a summer fete in the village, they brought the wolves out and we took a walk with them around a field. An absolutely amazing experience. Especially receiving the (dubious) honour of having a Alpha rise up and place his paws across your shoulders. (One of the keepers had to stand behind everyone who received that honour to keep them from falling over.) I did the natural thing and rubbed him either side along his ribcage.

What impressed me is the way the Alpha kept checking that we were all together as we walked around the field. Being reared from cubs, they were totally accepting of our presence.

They made damned good guard dogs though. I wish I had a camera at the time.

I like watching a rough sea as long as I'm not in it.

One of my uncles who lived in Appledore, North Devon used to be a lifeboat member. He was called out one night when my Mum and Dad went to visit them. It seemed he was out for hours and boy was that sea rough. I learnt on that day that fishermen never learnt to swim. None of the lifeboatmen could swim. My uncle was also a fisherman.

Alcohol by volume. It tells you how strong the beer is so you can regulate your quaffing accordingly.

I've looked on Big Rock's site and there's no mention of beer strengths. So I guess you don't use that over there.

That's a good range, not too strong and not too weak. I find if they're much above that, the taste is rough. Below and the taste is weak. The strongest I've had was 11%. That wasn't far back now. There are some good pubs here in Leeds that do a good range of real ales from the cask.

Bottles can tend to be nippy on my tongue. There's one I like because it comes out of the bottle reasonably smoothly. It's called Marston's Strong Pale Ale and is 6.2%. For a pale ale, it's quite dark in colour.

I love beer and only drink it during the summer when it's so hot here at the beach. I love white wine , so I don't know my beers:(



But, I do love the ale beers....especially Smithwicks. We finally have this beer in the States. I asked my local barman at my local to order this beer for the pub,and he fought me all the way.....:wah::wah: I won and it's a success.

My local guy is selling all sorts of Halloween beer and the locals love it.

I can find out the brand if you would like to know it, it just has a taste of cinnamon and pumpkin in it, very mild taste, wouldn't drink it often as I am not a beer drinker.............but its just nice for a change!

If it's kept and poured properly at the right temperature, then I love a pint of Greene King Abbot Ale. It has a nice body, texture and just the right hoppiness to its flavour for me.

Out of a bottle, I enjoy Marston's Strong Pale ale. Quite smooth for a bottled beer and strong on flavour.

I don't mind a proper cider myself. Good stuff. But I haven't had one for a while. There's certainly more real cider (to coin a term) about nowadays. Enough to tempt me back. The 'White Lightning' era had me retching for a while and put me off.
