The concept of women as hunters is nothing new.
I am not a hunter. Not presently, anyway.

No girls in my family hunt.. I don't mind it but i couldn't do it myself.. the thought of me eating what i killed kinda makes my stomach turn.

I know you didn't ask this but most of the men in our families hunt. It's my dads favorite past time. as well as my husbands. I love fishing-- i guess that's kinda "hunting" because your killing something for the purpose of eating it.. well for my family to eat it. I don't eat seafood.

Only if it was suffering.

Nah, women are supposed to protect and nurture, not kill.
I think it goes against our nature and I dont respect it at all.

hunting season is around the corner here. Very noisy at dawn where i live. It will be silent one minute then it sounds like a drive by shooting. No sleeping late here during hunting season.

I have had 2 GFs that were hunters and I know of plenty of young girls (age 12 - 16) that go along hunting with the family.
I have a goodly number of female friends that hunt and know a few that can out-shoot just about anyone they meet.
Maybe it's simply more common here in Pennsylvania?

We also do not have to provide food from the wild for our families.

i think if there were more hunters. who used the whole kill. meat, fir and so on. where i live i can walk in the woods. find horrible sights of headless deer or just shot animals. So hunting a lot of times is not a food issue at all.

When we owned our sheep & cattle station I used to shoot "wild" pigs & foxes.
The only reason was because they used to kill our baby lambs.
I am so happy I don't have to do that anymore.
