Thousands of people here in Ireland are expected to take part in an anti-war protest on Saturday 19 in Dublin.
The protest in Dublin's city centre will renew pressure on the Irish government to halt the use of Shannon Airport by the US military.
SINN FEIN and catholic youth activists against the invasion in Iraq will lead the protest.
It forms part of a global day of protests with similar anti Ameruican marches to be held in 150 cities worlwide.

I can not take part in the protest as Dublin is quite far from here. However I wish them success in their efforts.

I don't want to be there at all. The anti-war protestors should gear up and ready themselves for war, instead of whining about it. Put that energy into good use, save a life, do something for your country.

You are right Paula. The anti-war protestors should put their energy to good use, save a life and do something for their fellow human beings. But if some pressure, howsoever insignificant, can be build up against the war-mongering governments then I will welcome such protests. The important thing is whether these protesters are really concerned or simply trying to be in limelight. For the later I have no sympathy and support.

Figures.
Sinn Fein, you say?
Kind of removes any credibility, if you ask me.
I wonder how the Irish-Americans in Iraq feel about that.
I dont think it gives them a warm fuzzy, you know what I mean?
I hope your protest works.
I hope you drive the americans to totally abandoning use of anything Irish.
