I have a Family of Hawks I've watched/enjoyed for years. new baby @2 yrs.

I live on a Golf Course - 6:00 a.m. this morn, with coffee I'm on my patio, beautiful morn.. Birds - rabbits, I can see my neighbor straight across the course with his little dog yipping, everyone's enjoying the morn.

The birds scatter - rabbits run - neighbors dog has a steady bark.

I jump up - it's coyotes, or a Hawk.

The Hawk swoops by on the Golf Course, so I run to the end of my yard and stand on a bench to watch the Hawk, it swoops down & back up sits on a wire by my neighbor across the course.

I'm just standing on this bench until the Hawk takes flight again when

OMG - that neighbor has a GUN...

The neighbor see's me & truns to try to hide the gun - I run into the house screaming at my husband - tears running down my cheeks the Hawk.!!!

My husband & I run back out - WE jump up on the bench & stare with just shock.

The neighbor is throwing rocks at the Hawk until my husband yelled.

The rocks put the Hawk in flight.

I don't know if Hawk's are endangered - but, this Family of Hawks are.

I'll call my home owner's association all the way to PETA.

This can't be legal.??

I settled down & realized I could've been shot....

Good grief Patsy! What an idiot neighbor. Shouldn't be shooting near people anyway!

I know some hawks and birds of prey are protected in Arizona but I don't know all of which ones. I'm thinking it might very well have been illegal if your neighbor had shot it. Do you have any idea what kind of hawk it was? I can snoop around the protection laws for you.

I just came in from the backyard where the whole family is flooting with a little breeze. very cool, just too hot outside to watch..

I'm going to call a friend who also lives on the course & admires the Hawks.

I don't do guns

I saw the neighbor put his dog in the house - so, I don't understand his motive/threat or first instince to Shooting.

This was just shocking to me

I have alot of wild life here - @ 25 Quail in my yard daily

Rabbits, and coyotes running around.

And alot of OLD FART'S - they take the 2nd Ammendment to serious.

I feel/believe this neighbor planned to kill this Hawk and tell authorities (if any)

that this Hawk was a threat

Just as in a Justifiable Homicide.

I thought this neighbor was a animal lover with having a dog & he's been a ok neighbor, we chat frequently etc.

I mean - I was shocked.

so I have calls to make.
