Alls I can say is bring Maggie back!
I'm too compassionate to be an utter bastard.

Too self respecting to be a caring idiot.

Too much pride to give up the self respect.

And not willing to take the rap for a lack of compassion.

Where does this leave me? Nowhere. What does this leave me? Nothing. Who does this leave me? Noone.

Oh great let's. mass unemployment, the police being politicised, interest rates in double figures (yes that's right the mortgage rate was almost double what it is now)

and funnily enough the property bubble bursting and people losing their homes right left and centre.

Yes but by the end of her reign, things were calming down.

B*llocks. Remember the poll tax riots? They were the worst riots seen in London for decades, the first thing John major did was do away with the poll tax as it finally got through to even our thick politicians that we wouldn't accept it and just how much of a liability she was. She destroyed the tory pay as a viable force in British Politics and it still hasdn't recovered. the only reason David Cameron has any chance is that Tony Blair has done an even better job on labour.

At the end of her reign people were dancing in the streets for joy glad to see the back of her.

http://www.omrlp.com/

It's frightening- they are getting more and more appealing.

If you are getting confused at who the Real Loony party is? us or the Government, let us reiterate that we are Official Loony's they are Unofficial. You can easily differentiate by the policies and behaviour they exhibit in running this country. Will the real Loony Party please stand up. Please stand up. Please stand up.

I have to admit the Welsh Assembly is doing wonders here in Wales so I can see why you would say SNP:D

Do you think he will keep his own seat? The bbc were filming in one of the social clubs during his speech, I suspect they just showed the polite interviewees.

From the way they're talking, he'll need to stand for an English constituency if he wants to stay an MP.

Maybe but all I'm really trying to say is that I think we need someone like her to sort out this credit crunch. Someone who isn't afraid to try something a little risky.

Guess who set the train in motion in this country that has led to the present situation. De-regulating finance markets, and turning mutual building societies in to banks is all very well, letting them have a free for all without regard for the consequences for everyone else is another. Mind you i think GB is an arsehole as well.

Well then I think she did pretty damn well to keep the train rolling for as long as it has considering the 'drivers' since. John Major; a long grey streak of slime: Tony Blair; never really much use. And now Gordon Brown; his surname accuses him accurately. And thinking of Blair, the independence of the bank of england, played no part in setting up the credit crunch, did it?

Actually no it didn't it's lack of regulation and corporate greed that did that.

At least now we don't have politicians playing with the interest rates for political ends. I bought my first house when interest rates were 13%. I remember getting 16% pay rises and that was the norm. I well remember the day rates went up to 15%. Even the tories realised that was too much and could cost them an election.

Maggie sold the family silver to keep up appearances and pissed away the chance to invest in our industry and our future by using the proceed from the sale and the revenue from the north sea (negotiated by the likes of tony benn by the way-maggie would just have let the companies take what they wanted keep all the proceeds and we'd be left with **** all) in favour of tax cuts to make her look good and keep people on the dole while handing over the keys of the strongroom to a bunch of chancers from the city who got rich on the sell of state assets and created a culture where greed and me first were acceptable sod the effect on anybody else. We now see French companies taking over our power generation and all the profit going to the french government who are probably pissing themselves laughing. Our few remaining coal fired stations import coal in to a country with hundreds of years supply left. What napoleon couldn't do maggie did for them. your electricity bill now subsidises the french taxpayer. hallelujah all praise maggie.

It wasn't exactly perfect before and she did achieve some good but she also destroyed something that we've lost forever. A strong leader is not necessarily a good leader, ask any country under the yoke of a tyrant.
