I was researching public opinion about the new $700 Billion Bailout and stumbled upon this site.
I haven't been on any forums in a while so I'm looking forward to posting again and enjoying stimulating conversation. (hopefully

)
I'm a 20 year old American middle class college student who is looking to learn more about life and politics. I read/watch the news and I feel like there is no truth or reality in it anymore.
I think more of my generation is starting to realize as well and I'm currently looking for ideas and possibilities on how to educate and inspire people of my age group to care.
Did I mention I'm a film editor? (or at least on the path to being one.) as of now I'm a newbie and amateur in the field.
Maybe I'm dreaming but I'm not the type who sits back and screams, "Someone should do something!"
I get up. Anyone else out there?
But politics are still rather confusing to me - I prefer philsophy personally over political conversations. So I'll probably be all over this site at random depending on my mood... Hope to see you in the posts!

Welcome to FG--------I admire your idealism, but it's wishful thinking to try and get your peer group to care, particularly when the majority of middle America (their parents) only care now that there is a economic disaster. Much of middle America has been guilty of over indulgence, over spending, increasing debt and self absorption.

Idealism? No I'm not an Idealistic. I calculate.
I'm not hoping to 'change the world' or the 'country' or even my 'state' but it doesn't mean that I won't educate myself and try to do the same for others. Will other's listen?
Sometimes you get lucky and people turn their heads for a minute but usually go back to doing whatever they were and sometimes you get lucky and make someone aware.
I'm an observer and I'm aware the power images have over people... why not to try to use that a little?
All the world's a ad. It's the main way to pass information. To use it to pass some real knowledge and current facts can't hurt our outlook. They all seem to be rather cynical and depressed anyways. :p

Clearly you dont know who youre dealing with here.
Now in most instances I would say a samurai trumps a ninja, however in this case a samurai/cat girl/journalist is no match for a mad scientist/ninja/detective.
Youre in way over your head.
I do need an assistant for an upcoming project Im not at liberty to divulge at this time if your interested.
The experience would catapult you into another realm you otherwise wouldnt have the opportunity to realize in cat girl world.

For someone who has horrible measuring abilities you sure do make a lot of judgments eh?
Assistant? if you were lucky! I only do partners.
By the way - You wouldn't last 10 minutes in the Kat-girl world -
You should watch a Nuki-neko anime to see a Kat-girl's true skills.
Laws of physics be damned. :wah:
Muahahahahahaha! *evil style*

But this is all besides the point. War will do us no good Nomad. Combining powers always increases it.

Hi Dreamer and welcome.
Interest approach to politics.
An interesting angle is your comment that you are in your early twenties and like most people your age you do not care about politics as you no longer believe.
This is where the error is happening.
Think about it, since the 1960's society has been driven by the 'baby boomers' you have been living in their shadow your whole life.
They were active in the 60's when they were your age now and drove change.
Their started the drug culture.
They partied in the 70's and drove musical changes.
They entered business and discovered how to make money is massive amounts and turned homes into commodities putting houses out of reach of the average person.
Now they continue to dominate political philosophies with their out dates Soviet paranoia view of the world.
You need to rally your uncaring friends and take over the political scene from those who run it and do so in the comfort that they know you do not care and will not do anything to stop them.

I don't think that just any one person's job. In the end it takes a WHOLE nation to stand up. Or at least the MAJORITY of it. I don't think people are FULLY ready yet to understand their actions can change things.
I think the greatest thing to do right now is not RALLY - but EDUCATE. None of my fellow age group fully understand what is even happening anymore. I go to parties -(as it's a fairly common thing for a college student to do

) and I sometimes start conversations about current events - It seems that most have little clue and those that do are very pessimistic about it all.
I'm currently looking for some Bush-McCain-speeches to start with... next some shocking facts....find a good song...
What do people understand the most in our country?
Commercials.
Campaign in commercials? .... music videos....for younger viewers?
no no. Start with youtube - myspace - perhaps take a class and create a whole site?
Is this not good enough to start with? Where does anything really start anyways?
I'm too tired to type anymore tonight - just got off work and I got class in the morning.
Thanks mikeinie! It's nice to meet you. Got me thinking now.
