Does anyone here watch this show? What a great show. She crackes me up, and her show is done very well. I do NOT, as a rule, watch talk shows. This show is the exception. I'm watching right now, and they are showing an exerpt from a previous show I really wish I had seen:
Seems there was a little boy, 9 years old, who had a very large tumor in his skull. The pictures were pretty graphic, and I won't get into detail about them. The tumor was diagnosed as malignant, terminal, and inoperable. The boys mom, unwilling to accept that, started researching, and found a surgeon willing to operate. Through all the pain, tests, and surgeries, the little boy kept his sense of humor, naming his tumor "Frank" after Frankenstein, because he was afraid of him as a "little kid", and that helped him conquer his fear. SO. The boy has the surgery, beats cancer, and is healthy today. Ellen hears about him, and flies him in to be on her show. His favorite band is KISS and she asks him about them while they are talking. He knows EVERYTHING about this band. So guess what? Yep. She had contacted all the members from the band to tell them the story of this kid, and all of them flew in from all over the world, asking for nothing, and surprised him. They came from backstage in full makeup and costume and this kids eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning and his parents had just hit the lottery. They brought him a guitar signed by each of them. This also happened to be on his birthday. What a great show.
