If Wishes Weren't Just Wishes

If wishes weren't just wishes

I'd traverse space without hitches

Across the galactic heights

At a speed faster than light's

Tripping on meteors and polsars

Like the fairy cosmos trotters

If wishes weren't just wishes

I'd scratch every spot that itches

Living in the thick of riches

Boldly ruling the whole wide world

With allegiance of young and old

In a cozy castle of gold

If wishes weren't just wishes

I'd make necessary stitches

To sail life's vessel in line

With the sweeping tides of time

Without greys or wrinkles to show

As winds of history will blow

But wishes remain mere wishes

Swimming thought's sea like lost fishes

I'd thus marvel at the skies

Gaze at kindoms fall and rise

Till the wishing game will cease

When it's time to rest in peace

This might be my favourite poem of yours so far. The rhythm is delightful.

Thanks Koan, I've learned a lot from you.

Abbey, never too late to be a poet. Just listen to the promptings of your heart and scribble what comes up, using the best words in the best order. After series of editing, you'll be amazed at the product of your effort.
