Today I went on my walk with my dogs, took my camera, seems that I usually see wildlife more when my boys don't come with me....yesterday it was a big black snake and today I was walking along minding my own business....and look over to see 4 deer staring at me....I couldn't believe it, because my lab mix usually goes crazy....she's run off a few times and left me with the leash or even taken the leash with her....the other day she took off and came back 40 minutes later....so I was sure that I would be having to really hold her....while I was taking these....then when they didn't move I started to get scared, I was told that if you can look a deer in the eye, they will charge after you....my kids laugh at me, but hey....I don't want to chance it...so I made noises after I got these three shots and the dogs never sensed them...I still can't believe it!
the first one is before I could focus....couldn't believe I had the time to focus! and the last one is a picture of my guard dogs!! :wah::rolleyes:

That's neat. I love it when stuff like that happens. It's sort of a "one with nature" feeling isn't it.

yes, it is....I loved it, I couldn't believe how close I was to them and they didn't freak! Which was a good thing, because my dog didn't run off after them....yesterday I was happy to be one with the nature in my car though....the snake was about 3 ft long and I'm a skerrdy cat when it comes to snakes!!

Can't disagree with you there. That's a part of nature I'm just fine not feeling one with. :wah:

I admire people that don't mind handling snakes, because I would definately not be able to do it....I scream like a girl at the sight of them.....

Hi WW, oh just strolling through the garden here. Actually, I have to wait 1/2 hr for the pork roast on the grill. When we have dinner on the deck, I feel the same way, like what animal is eyeing my dinner.:wah:

You are the second person that has commented on how green it is (I posted at another forum too).....I guess we take it for granted...I don't think about it....
I would love to see kangaroos....never seen one other than in a zoo....out in the field would be so cool to me....sure my dogs would chase them too! My little dog can't see well, so he usually misses a lot of stuff that goes on...bless him!:-4
Thanks for saying my dogs are beautiful!! they are my babies....Its almost time to go for the daily walk and I'm shocked they aren't at my feet reminding me of what time it is!

:wah: I get them behind my barn all the time around the wood pile. I just stand really still and hope I don't see fangs, or any noise from the tail that resembles a baby's toy. :-3

that sounds great to me....and :wah: @ rj!!
JAB.....I would love to lend you the little guy, anytime!....he's the friendlier one of the two, he likes to socialize, the big one doesn't....she clings to me even more when people come around us, so the shitzu is definately the top choice!!
We went tonight to take our walk and there was a man walking in the road to tell us that there was a tree down in the road preventing any traffic to go any further, well the battlefield has another entrance, which is really an exit, I went the wrong way for a bit to get to another parking spot so we could take our walk, it was really nice, there was no one around so we let the big dog go free for a while, until I spotted the deer in the field (the first of two) then she got the leash, she never saw it.....or the one right before we were almost done our walk, we had one staring at me.....my son couldn't believe how close it was to us without freakin'!....
they are healthy looking dear, probably because they can't be hunted and live on a protected state park....I love to watch them run....so beautiful....of course my son agreed and then said "yeah and they taste great too!!!":wah:

Hey Sweet cheeks!
It is good to see you too!! I am doing okay, still unemployed but trying to stay positive and constantly looking for work!
Glad you liked the pictures!.....I've been walking everyday since I got laid off, it helps me a lot....and my dogs are completely spoiled with their time out of the house.
I would LOVE to come see you, been thinking about it a lot, but well, that old dollar is keeping me from doing it.....perhaps before we know it, I'll be rollin' in the dough and I'll be knocking on your door! :-4:-4
Luv ya too sista!

Deer won't charge you unless you've wondered in the vicinity of what he feels is his territory(Does will never charge I don't believe) during the rut season...That and the fact that you smell like male urine(Hypothetically speaking)...

Hey K!....thanks for that....my kids are laughing at me that I'm afraid of deer charging at me and my 13 year old basically said the same thing about being in their territory....I've never seen a buck on our walks, only does...
Lucky for me I usually don't smell like male urine too...so I should be safe!:D
