A New TV Show You Can't Miss

There is a new TV show debuting this summer. Word is that it will be called “Dancing with the Lost, Desperate, American Idle Biggest Losers. Quite a title don’t you agree and they sure have managed to capture most of the inane shows in one title. Perhaps all that dancing will help some of them lose weight. Early reports indicate that the judges will be Eric Estrada (assuming he is on a break from infomercials), Brittany Spears and one of the now unknown former stars from Friends.

Laugh if you will at this new offering, but it has to be better than another CSI, or worse reruns of “How I Met Your Mother. If one skips any show on TV that contains violence, overt sex, or stupid reality (ever wonder whose reality that is?), you are left with Antiques Road Show, 30 Minute Meals or a priest, nun or evangelical preacher. And if that is not bad enough, pay special attention to the content and antics in some recent commercials, I suppose they reflect our current society and tolerance for stupidity and isn’t that a scary thing, well at least it may be if you are over 60 and if not you probably have no idea what I am talking about.

When I watch television these days I can’t help but wondering what my grandparents would think¦and they were shocked when Elvis first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show (who?). Ahh¦ a good variety show would sure be nice about now.

Sorry, I have to go, time for some real television, Keeping Up Appearances and As Time Goes By are my salvation. :wah::wah::wah::wah:

Indeed, you have a good point. A good book can take you anywhere you want to go. I'm usually reading two or three books at once.

I prefer to read, but I've found a few TV shows offered online that have minimum commercial interruption and I can lounge around with my laptop precariously perched on my tummy. At hulu.com, you can watch House, Bones, The Office (these are my personal favorites right now) among quite a few others with a sprinkling of movies, all at the low price of nothing. What a deal!

Quinn, I just wanted to say I enjoy reading your observations. I may not post a reply............but I do read them. Witty........and many right on target.
