Lady Cop's Treacle Scones

Ingredients.
1 lb flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda or baking powder
tablespoon of ginger
tablespoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons of treacle
3 tablespoons of sugar
some salt
1 oz of butter
milk to mix
Method
Sift all the dry ingredients together, blend in butter. Add treacle on hot spoon and then add enough milk to make a fairly stiff dough.
Flour board. Roll out with a well floured rolling pin and divide into portions or cut into rounds. Bake scones for 3 minutes on each side.
More treacle can be added on top when lukewarm + fresh cream

Why Thankyou Buzz! i know they will be the best! all i would add if i do them would be some currents...sounds good, and i hope to have some with my tea in the morning please! YUM!

I don't have any treacle. Can I use cane syrup?

hello dollop, and welcome to FG :-6 .....since it's Buzzard's recipe i guess you turn them, i never have had to turn the ones i make, let me know if you try these!
