The American people are incapable of political humour and satire?

I'm a (British) guest here...so I can't say.

Answering that question would be impertinent...or ENTIRELY pertinent.

Actually, the American peole are like the British people in that we none

of us of like our satire to be coralled into a forum.

Be funny!?

Bugger off!

shrike.

Ah Shrike, not true---------any Yank that watches the late evening talk shows / Letterman, Leno can attest to the Political Humour in abundance.

Besides, American Politics is humour & satire in and of it's self.

Of course. Point taken, Lon.

Anyone who was any good wouldn't post their stuff for free in a forum.

They'd try to get paid for it ...a wonderful American principle with which I agree!

It is no surprise, with an attitude like that which you are displaying, that the Americans decided to go their own way a few hundred years ago. You'd be surprised what peple give away for free. You are sounding like you want to come and remove a few golden cobblestones from the world of the streets that are paved with gold.

BigScaryMonster wrote: I would say the reason why nobody posted any political satire is we're trying to be friendly and have respect for each other. Let's face it, the last American presidential campaign was...rather ugly. A lot of people became very passionate about their beliefs. There was a lot of arguing and fighting and people on both sides resorted to conduct...unbecomming, of decent human beings. Maybe in a while after people have calmed down we can start joking about it. But at least in my state, of california, I'm still walking on glass around democrats.

However, that's not really a bad thing. Sometimes using your freedom of speech to insult others isn't the best way to go. It takes a big person to hold their tongue out of respect.
Just to keep it straight... phuque ewe!
