COMMENT
I thought I'd invent a word game and lift my all-round popularity from its current low ebb. Here it is, it's called Score Points!(TM) and here's how it works.A post has to be prefixed PLAY, COMMENT or SCORE. Any post not prefixed properly is a void post and all posters will ignore void posts with contempt.A COMMENT can say anything at all which is on topic for the thread. Posters are encouraged to applaud good PLAY and to congratulate a SCORE.The rule begins empty and is added to by each PLAY. It is reset to empty by each SCORE.Every PLAY extends the rule. Each PLAY contributing to the rule is worth one point to the eventual scorer. The scorer is the poster who knows what the rule is and claims the points with a post prefixed SCORE.No PLAY, COMMENT, SCORE or void post may discuss, describe or speculate about the rule. The last poster to PLAY can't PLAY again or SCORE.Each poster is responsible for tallying his or her own points.Let's play Score Points!

To get it started, can you give an example of a three part rule?

I do hope nobody's going to forget to prefix their posts, I'd hate to start in with the contempt quite so quickly. I'm sure the tactics will become clear as soon as we get through the first few PLAYs and see a SCORE or two. Off you go, someone.

Too many rules and a bit confusing. Wait does this mean I've started this insane game. Who knows, may be a void or do I score points for this?

I do hope people can see how it works by now. I'm sorry if anyone feels there are too many requirements in the original post but I wanted to leave no loopholes.
Are we enjoying it so far?

qsducks, that's a very clever play and I'm impressed. It would improve readability if you stuck with capital letters for the first word in future.

qsducks, that would be perfectly good but you have to put PLAY at the top of the post for it to be counted. If it had a PLAY then I can see the effect it has, yes.

You will also need to choose a character to play as. (I am thinking we say the rules but not the game - so Monolopy should not have been mentioned?

Seven points, not just one. One for each play. This really is so much better than I'd expected, I thought it would take weeks for people to work out how to do this.

Apart from dubs and Pheasy both correctly scoring nul points when the rules were reset I think we're doing amazingly. Seeing along-for-the-ride gather 4 points just like that on her first post to the thread makes it all worth the effort, that's the Leo at work for you.

You risk falling under instruction 6 of the original post, Pheasy.
Since we're just starting allow me to give my opinion that 'Point me in another direction' was an implied appended COMMENT on the same post as the SCORE.

COMMENTMidget40;826481 wrote: But how do we know which PLAYS are contributing to the RULE ? Only The person that makes the rule knows the rule....Instruction 4: Every PLAY extends the rule.
The rule starts out empty, every PLAY takes what the rule was before and extends it. You can work out what the new part of the rule is because the new PLAY, of course, has to obey the extended rule which results.
Pheasy, you can't just waltz off like that, you're in the lead! You're our star performer!

So is the RULE changeable. I thought the person who made the Rule knew the SCORE and PLAYS were like clues for us to work out that SCORE or am I so totally on the wrong track?
