Following the death of his employer and mentor, Bumpy Johnson, Frank Lucas establishes himself as the number one importer of heroin in the Harlem district of Manhattan. He does so by buying heroin directly from the source in South East Asia and he comes up with a unique way of importing the drugs into the United States. As a result, his product is superior to what is currently available on the street and his prices are lower. His alliance with the New York Mafia ensures his position. I enjoyed it. I don't think I've seen anything with Denzel Washington that I didn't enjoy.

I liked it, too. It's a story of career choices and changes, business strategies, and unlikely friendships. I'd give it 4 out of 5.

Im not crazy about D.W. Hes a competent actor and hes played some good roles but I dont find him overwhelmingly interesting. Hes not faceted enough.

Well I have it in my Netflix que right after "3:10 to Yuma" which I can't wait to see.

If you like a well done western the likes of Silverado you will like 3:10 To Yuma.

I liked both "3:10 To Yuma" and "American Gangster", but "No Country For Old Men" was the best of the most recent flicks in my opinion. "There Will Be Blood" I am so so about, despite liking the acting of Daniel Day Lewis.

I have kind of a special interest in the Coen Bros. because we went to the same high school.

I feel the same way about Clint Eastwood since we went to the same high school and are about the same age.

Well hell you two I didn't go to School with anyone famous.. :wah: I was on a plane with Clint Eastwood once, and stood at a bar in Vegas next to Sammy Davis Junior.

I liked both 3:10 and American Gangster too. Good to know about No Country as I want to see that one soon and had reservations. The last one I don't know about so should look into just in case.

Thats funny.

My dad and I were walking downtown when I was about 10 and Bull Bullinski stumbled out of a bar at 10 am and I got his autograph.

He was no Mad Dog Maschan but......

Steve Bucemi went to my high school. We had the same drama teacher. He made a low grade movie, years ago... dedicated to this teacher, and the neighborhood we grew up in. Ill have to get Denzels movie. I always like everything he does.
