Buy a large packet of pasta and some cans of tomato soup (shop brand not name brand)

Cook a pot of pasta each day and mix one can of soup with each pot. Have some for lunch and some for dinner and if you can afford a cheap loaf of bread you can have toast (without butter) for breakfast and supper. You can also buy cheap pizza's - 2 for a pound or maybe a dollar. Have a look around. Most supermarkets sell their own cheap versions of certain items.

It's not the healthiest, it's not the tastiest, but part of being a grown-up is sometimes about tightening your belt and just doing what has to be done.

Perhaps you could ask for some dried provisions for your storecupboard as part of your birthday present selection.

Omlettes are cheap to make, baked beans, spagetti in tommy sauce, canned soup etc are all reasonably priced. Make a huge pan of pasta, add tuna and sweetcorn, portion it to make 3/4 meals, freeze 2 meals, refrigerate one to have tomorrow and eat the one you just made.

How about half a dozen eggs and a loaf of bread. You could have boiled eggs and the next day scrambled eggs made with water and poached eggsummm forgot u only have a micro wave so give the boiled eggs a miss

How about spaghetti and sauce, garlic bread, salad. That should last for a few days. I lived on spaghetti for a week when I had my 1st apartment and no money.:wah:And, I still LOVE spaghetti:D

has the best idea - anything Pasta will go along way - Ramen Noodles.

I love cooked noodles with a little butter, salt & pepper.

I don't know where everyone else lives - But Eggs are expensive, all Dairy products have taken a hike.

I think Fuzzy Butts suggestion is fantastic. I have been there many times too and seemed to live off too much bread - bad. Try and make soups - can do that in the microwave - veges and beans and loads of water. Or rice and veges is another thing you can do. Take Care

Add to those suggestions this one: Oatmeal (regular, not instant) is super cheap and microwaveable. Not the tastiest, but very filling and very nutritious. You can live more than a week with your three bucks.

My sister-in-law once stretched a burger into 3 meals when she was 18. Meat for breakfast, a nice salad for lunch, and bread for dinner. I told her she was nuts but wouldn't accept my help. She's an incredibly strong and creative woman now, easily knocking down challenges that would drive lesser people insane.

I think all of us have had to stretch that dollar sometime in our lives. This experience does bring out the creativity in us...and also the appreciation of the times when we do have enough money for the things we need.

All the suggestions above are good.

Hmm only 3 dollars huh, well my only thought would be to try and ration it out until you are able to get some more money, by buying some small costing healthy foods, that may not taste as great as you would like, but will keep you full and not starving all day long. I hope you are able to come up with something!

clone myself... whoa that would be insane! So insane that i might do it... but then she'll want to make a clone and they'll want to make a clone... then they'll all realize that they are pretty awesome so they'll want to take over the world... just gets too messy.

Well one can dream I suppose haha.lol well, I do make movies... just none yet... well In the process of a summer film! how about that! lol in a class of 35 we all decided to make a movie and this is the school's first one! and I'm one of the youngest and i'm like the second assistant director... everyone wanted that job but i uh snatched it from them with all my amazingness... so basically if the director dies with the 1st A.D. then i would be the director... which would just be insane... you know Christmas is a looong way away?

The film is about a news anchor who starts out as a cold hearted guy. Ya know not caring about the stories he reads and junk... then it kinda changes into a scrooge thing... some chick named myst takes him through different series of events and all of them do with the stories he reported... a soldier oversees, a paralyzed football player, a homeless person, and then the father of a girl who lost her mother in a wreck... and then it ends happy haha
