I think that when we literally quit scratching each others back - that is the first glaring sign that a relationship is in trouble...or at least in need of a good jump start....here's why:thinking:

One of the things that cause us to drool over a new relationship is the fact that we can't keep our hands off of each other. We look for any reason under the sun to have contact.... sitting and chatting with each other..we're touching, chatting with others... hand on the knee or a negligent back scratch to let others around us know that 'this' one is being taken care of so they can just move it along...lol, bad or even indifferent day??..back scratch while you tell me all about it and i sympathize, not feeling so hot???... back scratch or even a head massage while i talk you to sleep....:-4

We lose that over time(that need to be touching) and our need for personal space reasserts itself. That's really kinda sad, IMO.

If you find yourself bored this weekend, I dare you to test my theory... cozy up next to someone who used to make you salivate with little or no effort, start scratching their back and just ask 'So, what's new with you?'.... let's see who turns to look at you in shock... there just may be a glimmer of that old lover looking out through their eyes..:D

Sure in time a relationship changes - I don't need to sit on my Husbands lap 24/7and I don't want Brutus on my lap.

I believe affection is shown is several different ways through a relationship.

My Husband and I make sure we're appreciated every day.

My wife and I do it often...and even when it is difficult we try to remember to touch one another.....There are also times of course that we need to be left alone, and learning the difference is important too..

I agree. There is nothing less entertaining then the mate who pissed you off royally sitting down and acting stupid about what may be bothering you.:D And we all need that time that is just ours..

But physical contact, just for physical contacts sake and not leading up to jumping the others bones...yum... it just makes those moments when it does lead to jumping the others bones that much more satisfying..:-6
