Yes I can live without it. I was a vegetarian for three years. Then I got back to eating meat, mostly chicken. I was healthier and happier when I wasn't eating animal flesh and it showed. This year I'm going back to veggieism. Once you make the connection that your pork chop or Big Mac used to be a living feeling being with a face, if you *can* continue eating meat, it's still nagging in the back of your mind. I use a lot of meat substitute in my cooking and even my dad doesn't mind it and he's a big meat eater.

Oh God I wish I could.I really am so ashamed of myself you know for eating animals.Im such an animal lover and I mean big time and yet I eat them fgs....how bad is that. I have geese and ducks here....the chickens the foxes took away....but NO way would I ever eat them.Yet yes I would go out an buy duck from a supermarket.I truely wish I could stop eating meat but the truth is........I like it and try to switch off in my mind what happens to the lovely sheep I have in the fields around me and when I see those baby lambs playing it breaks my heart I can tell you.Sometimes I really dont like myself you know.

I don't eat ground beef- we use ground Turkey for everything like meat balls and burgers.. sometimes we buy Boca garden burgers (veggie)
But i love chicken... i can't live without chicken.. lol
I should say if I think about what I am eating I will gag the whole time..
So I make other conversations to keep my mind off of it.. LOLPigs have bigger brains then Dogs....oh they know whats going on.........my God how did you stand to live near a place like that....just reading that has upset me.

I puked in the sink.. I've never eaten pork anything since. I never will. The sounds that come out of that place are unbearable! :-1 Even with the windows shut the screams were so loud. :-1

I eat very little meat. I love turkey but only eat that at Christmas or if I'm out for Sunday lunch. I like beefburgers and sausages but that's about it, chicken occasionally but the recent tv programmes about intensive chicken farming have put me off a bit (and I only watched the trailers!!)
I love Quorn, I make fajitas, chilli, curry, bolognese etc with it and it's lovely and very low in fat.

Here is the Boca site:
http://www.bocaburger.com/
and Morningstar Farms:
http://www.seeveggiesdifferently.com/
Both list their products and have recipes for them.
I prefer Boca Burger in my tacos and Morningstar farms Crumbles in my spaghetti and casseroles.

I dont eat baby ANYTHING! Veal, lamb chicky, ducky, etc. Nothing like bunnies, squirrels, bambies, nope not me. I eat chicken(except from kfc) I eat sausage and pork chops, and beef. I have tried the meat substitutes, but they did not agree with my digestive system...ahem.

So is Bambiburger. Especially if you've had to hoof for 5 or 6 miles to shoot the bugger.
On the other hand, I absolutely refuse to eat any kind of farmed poultry.

Realise this is an old post, but I've just joined
I've been more or less veggie since I was really young, just kept eating less and less as I got older. Kicking on for 30 years veggie now
It's a lot easier now being a veggie tho, with so much more meat substitutes on the market. I have a whole drawer full of quorn etc in our freezer lol
Hubby is a meat eater, but I find we can have the same meals a lot of times with me using a substitute for meat

That's one thing tho, I don't bang on about other people eating it, each to their own etc. And I don't mind preparing meals with meat (altho can't cut raw meat yuck)

I totally could. I've been on and off veggie over the last few years. One of these days it might stick permanently. :wah:
and we love Boca burgers (I have some in the freezer right now).

We have them a few times a month and more often when I'm in veggie mode. :-6
