Pfizer temporary halting drug

Hi All
This is related to another thread on this list dealing with pharmaceutical ethics. I came across an article that describes how Pfizer in South Africa has just stopped supplying a drug – Valoron – which is prescribed for extreme pain. They've stopped for 2-3 months, because of some manufacturing problems. Because it is highly controlled, doctors and patients can't even import it, and Pfizer SA just won't import it themselves – it's their own drug!
The story is at http://www.reporter.co.za/newszone/arti ... P21A681400
It sounds like the worst kind of stuff that these companies do. I guess when you’re making money from Viagra, who really cares about patients?
