Teens charged with microwaving cat to death
Last Updated: Saturday, January 5, 2008 | 9:02 PM MT
CBC News
Four teenagers from the Edmonton area have been charged with breaking into a house and killing a cat in a microwave.
Police in Camrose, southeast of Edmonton, say a home was broken into twice while the owners were away for the holidays last month.
During the second break-in, a cat from the home was put into the microwave and then cooked to death, Insp. Lee Foreman said.
Four teens between the ages of 13 and 15 have been charged with several offences including breaking and entering, theft and unlawfully killing an animal. They are scheduled to appear in a Camrose court on Feb. 7.
None of the teens live at the home and none are related to the owners, Foreman said.
"I've been policing for over 25 years and I've never encountered anything quite like this," he said. "It's very disturbing. It's especially sad given the season."
A family friend who was looking after the house while the owners were gone found the dead cat in the microwave.

Hey does this sh*t never end?! Shall we "rehabilitate" these losers too?
Here are some bad seeds, some punks born bad. Nothing will convince me otherwise. These are not isolated cases, they happen the world over. I know some members are going to say "just a cat" well, next time how about an infant in the nuker? What's to stop them?

This is a passage from the (fictional) narrator's reminiscence of his boyhood days in pre WW1 rural England:
"...we were cruel little beasts and sometimes we'd just knock the {birds'} nest down and trample on the eggs or chicks ... we used to catch toads, ram the nozzle of a bicycle pump up their backsides, and blow them up till they bust. That's what boys are like."
Not making a point, the OP just reminded me.
I have to say if that was my cat and I caught these kids I'd probably end up in prison for murder.
There's a person after my own heart! I would have said the same thing.
Hi Antirrhinum, welcome to FG. :-6

If that had happened to a cat of mine and I had caught them 'in the act', I would have put an arm of theirs inside the microwave, and securely holding the little s**ts close to the machine so they couldn't wriggle away and switched on the microwave. It would not have killed them, but I think it would have made a mess of their arm, and probably would have been very painful. They would have known how that poor animal felt, and the agony before it died.
Punishment fitting crime !

I was going to write ok, ok I give. These kids are doing it just to see Red and I argue.
But then you have to put killing babies in the post.
You just don't know when to stop, do you.
Personally I would beat the living **** out of these kids.
But You Red need a can of STFU.
Why? Why must you kill a child to get your point across?
What is wrong with you?
It's not ok to kill an animal for giggles.
But you condone killing children?
That will help put an end to what these kids do?

You think they wouldn't?! A cat one day, maybe a baby another! What's to stop them?! Sick doesn't always know any bounds. I know you have this "War on RG," "slap me silly till I puke" and whatever other crap you've said over at YHF about me, but seriously JD, get a grip. Your loathing of me is becoming an obsession. I can practically hear you squeal whenever these animal threads come up. I am not a monster, I do not hate children and I'm getting right tired of you saying I do.
In short, I don't give two shakes to thinking about you JD because I just don't care, so you don't need to be worrying about me either. Just use ignore if you can't handle it. Believe me I won't take offense.

Oh dear.....such a sad thing on the news tonight.A farm where they found lots of horses dead through starvation .....lots also had to be put down and some are being cared for now thank goodness. Those poor creatures was there for mans greed and to end up on a plate.Even at the end of their sad lives before they were butcherd they were suffering...........the bastard who allowed this to happen should be starved and left to rot until he learns his damn lesson and then given his life back unlike so many of those beautiful creatures then he allowed to suffer so.

The first three lines were sufficient enough to warrant an apology on my behalf. I did misread your thread. And I would have to agree that it's possible that these punks may have no end to their little kill fests.

There is sickness (it is called no respect for anything) all over this world, and I don't know why people would be so cruel. Cannot understand how you could live with yourself after that.
In another sad and sick story. A young man was arrested in Vancouver yesterday after they heard sounds coming from his apartment. The owner had taken a hammer to his rotweiller's head and kept hitting him till he died. He said that the puppy bit him. He faces a $2,000 fine and possible 6 months in prison.

God!! It never stops!! that reminds me of another horror story, similar, but no, I won't say anything about it. This thread's gotten pretty bad. But people do bad things to animals and humans alike so there you go.
That fine (I use that loosely) is comical. Why not just give him community service? It's about the same effect.

Right, the fine is comical, and I know he will not get any prison time, because of the jails, prisons being so full up as they are. Who's to say he will even pay the fine. Community work for 3 years sounds good to me.

You know I've seen this in several other posts, and the same point has been made, did you know that every single serial killer that has ever been caught has had a history of torturing animals at a young age, then they grew up, became stronger and smarter, and started torturing human beings, I really don't want to go into detail of the things Dahmer and Bundy did, but the fact is when someone tortures an animal to death like this, it shows a COMPLETE LACK of conscious, emapthy, remorse, all feelings that make us human! That is also textbook proof of a sociopath, someone I definatly don't want out on the streets. I don't necessarily think these kids should die, but they definatly need to be put away....for a VERY VERY long @$$ time!!!!

fuzzy butt;755942 wrote: Well that's not actually correct drumbunny . the torture of animals is a symtom of the psychopathic. Not the other way around. and not all psychopaths kill animals when they are young.
for instance the Mayo brothers killed quite a lot of small animals whilst performing experiments when young.............You've heard of the Mayo clinic havent you?
nad I wouldn't call the kids in outback queensland pychopaths for killing toads.
It's almost a kid thing to torture or hurt small animals but it doesn't mean they are pychopaths ...lol
What about my own son who shoots and skins rabbits? would you call him a psycho?
oh By the way guys if you're going to YH to see the fall out of JD's banning you wont find it ...........it's not there. Happy hunting:)
the microwave in this case is a small thing under the circumstnces I'm more concerned that these kids have entered anothers home illegally to do it.
Actually showing the lack of remorse conscience etc. or turning your back on it, so to speak IS A VERY HUMAN AND NORMAL TRAIT..............
I don't think it is, i've never tortured an animal in my life, neither have any of my family or a lot of people i know

Sorry Fuzzy, but I still disagree with you, okay, so not ALL convicted serial killers have tortured animals...I'll just say 95%, the MAJORITY, name one who hasn't, and I'll name three who has. What I'm saying is that its a damn big clue that something is wrong with a persons psyche when they torture an animal, okay, so maybe 5-6 year old boys step on slugs or bat with frogs, still not right, but they are awfully young and don't quite understand..yet. But these kids were 13 - 15!!! Breaking into the house is bad yeah, but putting that cat into a microwave is just effin' sick! So I still believe they are exuding signs of a psychopath....do normal, sane, feeling people do that crap? Nope...dont think so.

What it boils down to is if you are an animal lover and everbody has a right to their opinion.I think it is not right for ANYBODY to mistreat animals and I have many mixed feelings about what I have read on this thread but have decided to keep these to myself as quite honestly Im not here to row.

I agree Carolly...Im an animal lover and im a meat eater...So although i love all animals, I put me before them, human life to me is more important than an animals. If my house was on fire with my family inside and my dog I'd do my upmost to get them all out but im afraid the dog would be last on the list. Believe me I love my dog.
I cant stand animal cruelty, cant say I think every young child who harms an animal will turn out to be a serial killer as my brothers killed a few frogs when they were younger and they turned out real well lol...
Killing anything for fun is wrong in my eyes, killing an animal to eat is fine as long as its done humanely and not as a sport..
Trouble with FG is, lots of contraversial posts mixed with lots of opinionated members who all like to think their opinion is the right one lol..
Be nice if a contraversial/ debatable post could be posted and everyone be allowed to have their say without another member attacking their opinion purely because they believe theirs to be the ONLY opinion that matters.

I agree with you 100% my sweet Chezzie-kins....why I haven't posted in this thread, or many for that matter....you get to a point where its just not worth the hassel....I like to voice my opinion and say my say....afterall that is what forums are about....too bad there are "forum bullies" where-ever you go from what I hear....I hate to see good people run off because of the people that demand that they be agreed with or to agree to disagree with them at all times...it's not all about one person, about a BUNCH of us, from all around the wonderful world!:D
Cruelty to animals is a horrible thing, my kids watch the animal planet and they know that I can't be near the room when they watch the show about abused animals comes on....I will cry....and they know it! I love my little critters and enjoy them more than anything....we are a family that treats our animals better than some humans are treated...putting a cat in a micro-wave was a horrible thing for those kids to do....no doubt....but I'm a believer in people and they can change their habits, I don't believe in being "born bad".....that is a cop out, giving up hope for your fellow man is very wrong in my sight.
