Yep ....Hotel staff, maintenance people .....i don't think they'll find her alive . I pray they do, i just think it won't happen . I would like to see the parents charged with child neglect because had they not left her she'd still be alive today ...in my opinion .

Most of the public realise that something is being hidden. They are not stupid, fortunately, the McCanns are not the only intelligent people in the universe. It may well have been something really simple at the outset (and perhaps nothing to do with with the actual disappearance of the child) but, of course now, things have escalated far more than anyone expected. Thus, what may have been 'simple' initially now looks like a major and much more sinister issue. Telling lies of any description is always a bad move and generally comes back to haunt you.

Robert Murat 'near Madeleine McCann's flat'

Two British holidaymakers involved in the search for Madeleine McCann have claimed a man they thought was Robert Murat, the first formal suspect in the case, was outside the apartment on the night the little girl disappeared.

The 33-year-old property developer has always maintained he was at home when Madeleine vanished from her family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3 and has denied having anything to do with her disappearance.

Murat has denied any involvement in Madeleine's disappearance

But it has been reported that two women staying at the same resort claimed to have seen the man resembling Murat, who is an “arguido” or formal suspect in the case, smoking a cigarette only yards from the McCanns’ apartment.

They also claimed they saw two blond, tanned men acting suspiciously near the McCanns’ holiday home on the afternoon before Madeleine went missing.

Annie Wiltshire and her sister Jayne Jensen said they tried to tell Portuguese police at the time and then tried to speak to police in the UK without success.

They were not on the original police list of potential witnesses because their apartment was not in the same block as the McCanns’.

They finally spoke to the British authorities two months ago.

The details were passed onto Kate and Gerry McCann’s private detective agency in Spain, Metodo 3, but have only just emerged.

advertisementThe women, both thought to be in their 40s from Aylesford in Kent, were on a two-week holiday in the Algarve at the same time as the McCanns and became friends through tennis.

They were staying in an apartment nearby and on the day Madeleine disappeared, they say they saw two men in a neighbouring apartment acting suspiciously.

A source close to the investigation said: “The sisters saw two men wearing trunks, standing on a balcony, whom they had not seen before. They just felt that they looked odd, but didn’t do anything about it.”

Later that night, Madeleine vanished and the women helped with the search. The following morning, Mrs Jensen is said to have remembered seeing a man smoking a cigarette outside the McCanns’ apartment.

On the evening of May 4 - after Murat had volunteered as a police interpreter - the sisters were having a drink with a third friend discussing the case when he is said to have walked past.

“He doubled back and asked them if everything was alright,” said the source.

“They asked him for a drink and he joined them briefly. He was wearing a navy blue t-shirt and jeans and was very sweaty.

“He said he had to go for a shower because he had been in the same clothes all day, but Jayne claimed she had seen him in a striped shirt and trousers earlier.

Mrs Wiltshire showed a Portuguese police officer the apartment where the two blond men had been staying, but it was empty.

The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “These women have given a statement and we are very grateful to them for the information.

“We continue to appeal for any witnesses who have not yet come forward to do so.”

Mr and Mrs McCann, from Rothley in Leicestershire, remain arguidos in their daughter’s case.

Thats what the mcans wanted though,, publicity to keep their daughters image in people minds. Sadly i think the huge amount of publicity could have caused the abducter to panic and commit the worst crime:-1

I do not know-but I do know, it was not very responsible of the parents to go to dinner and leave their children alone. :(
