Hi
As so many people have their own room, I was curious to see if anyone would pop by and say hi to me, if I had one myself.
Of course, they may be lured in by the promise of ice cream

Creamy vanilla today.

I'll sit in a corner with a mince pie and a spiked coffee if that's okay.

I haven't read your thread, I will go and do so.
For Chrimbo I will be in my house, and will see if there is anyone online to talk to, since i will be on my own, not that being on my own worries me at all.

cover your ears, you don't know what girlies might talk about when they get together. And don't drop crumbs on the new carpet.

Hi Lemon and Mint. I just went in to read your profile and it's empty. (Heck mine probably is too). Who is L&M? Where is she? from? What does she like to do? What makes ?her tick? What ticks her off? How will she be spending Chrissie?

Hello AussiePam
Funnily enough, I was looking at my profile earlier and wondering if i should fill it in.
I'll try to answer your questions.
Who am I?Still trying to work that one out, I'll let you know..........:wah:
Where am I?- Southern England.
Where am I from - from near Carolly, we had a bit of a natter about it the other day.
What do I like to do? - read, swim, cook.
What makes me tick? - learning new things, I can be very serious but I like to have a laugh as well.
What ticks me off? - inconsiderate people
How will I be spending Chrissie? -on my own, with a nice meal, listening to a carol service on the radio.

oh and i like coincidences, just odd little things, like the fact that carolly, on a trip to my home town, had a meal in a restaurant a couple of weeks ago, where i held my engagement party 20 years ago. That was a bit spooky that of all the things to mention to someone she didn't know, she mentioned that.

Wow, Thankyou
Where is Southern England? I don't think I've met Carolly - I didn't want to crash what looked like a private group. But I'll check her profile. My husband is English, hails from Kent. His family moved to Hampshire and I know the south fairly well. I had family in East Anglia too, though they've now moved to Oz. My son lives in London. My younger daughter has just moved to Paris.
Why Lemon and Mint? The name. For this coffee drinker, that sounds a lot like the dreaded TEA. Theia and I have a longstanding "battle of the beverages" going.
Of course lemon and mint are also two wonderful colours. And two great aromas.
And English woman who swims, like an Aussie? Impressive!! Do you ski?
Your Christmas sounds peaceful. Which is a good way to go. Too much hype. Too many often disappointed expectations these days. I wish you a very happy Christmas. Joyeux Noel !!!

Gosh Carol is from Essex. I just checked her profile. My older daughter and her husband lived in Capel St Mary, just south of Ipswich. And we wandered muchly round Felixstowe, up to Norwich and in all the Constable country villages. Very nice area. I kind of miss it. Though I don't miss the A12 all that much. Grin. Maybe I'll be brave and go and say hello to Carolly in her thread. Can't hurt.

Hi Kazalala, hope you are ok
Southern England encompasses London and just above it, and of course everything below that if you look on a map.Kent is part of Southern England.Hampshire is about as South as you can get - I am from the top part of the South, which is East Anglia, where your friends are from.
Go on, say hi to people you don't know like Carolly!I'm always happy to make new friends.
Lemon and mint - two things I like lemon tea (I like it iced in the summer) and mint my favourite flavour icecream.I do also drink coffe but not very strong.Do you know you can get all sorts of different flavoured coffee as well? Funnily enough I spoke to Theia the other day.
As you say lemon and mint are also nice colours.I was looking for a username which would be unique and i decided on that and i think it is calming and friendly sounding as well.
I learned to swim when i was very young, but i have not skied.
Happy Christmas to you too but I hope we will talk again before then.

:)

yes this area of the country is lovely.
I know the places aussiepam talks about and they are some of the nicest towns and villages to spend a spare day exploring.
I have never been to Lincolnshire but I will go to explore at some point, maybe during this coming summer.

Hi Carolly !!
Lovely muddy fields round Capel. I spent three months there from the winter solstice till the beginning of spring a couple of years ago. Brilliant. Loved it when the top of the mud was frozen so you didn't sink in up to your knees. They still find bits of Roman stuff in these fields. Awesome. And the green moss on all the fences. At first I thought it was paint. Elizabethan pubs and wonderful villages. And snow on the holly bushes.

Gotta run and get this show on the road. Last day of school today. Small person is very excited. There's a little Christmas party for the kids before home time. We'll have the car all packed up and are off to Sydney (I commute between there and Canberra - 3 hours drive, 3/4 hour plane ride) for a few days... catch you all again very soon.

Lemon, our Pammie secretly loves her tea. Next time she comes in here, just greet her with a steaming mug full of Tetley's strongest and best, and a couple of Rich Tea, and she'll be delighted :yh_devil
