I am one of those people who should be mandated to have gifts wrapped in stores and such. I cannot wrap a gift, and every year I just hope that magically the knowledge of how much paper to use, how to fold crisp corners, ect will come to me before Christmas. Birthdays and such I'm ok, I use gift bags, and loads of tissue paper. However at Christmas I feel gifts must be wrapped, because unwrapping presents is one of the best parts of Christmas.
I've just returned from the store with 6 rolls of paper and economy package of tape. Most folks wouldn't need that much, but I'm not normal. I always cut more paper than I need, and the tape is necessary to tape down all the bulges of excess paper smooth.
:D

Sheryl, you are not alone.I am useless, but I console myself with the thought that it is what is inside the parcel that counts, and if its for a child, then the paper is ripped off in seconds.

Wheww!
Every year I imagine the area surrounding my tree surrounded with beautifully wrapped packages. Sharp creases and beautiful bows and all the works. But every year so far it's looked like I let a kindergarten class wrap my gifts for me. :wah:

Too funny , Sheryl. I only learned how to wrap gifts because I had worked at Hallmark and they offer gift wrap service. Honest, don't stress. People LOVE presents even if there's a little bump here or there or 57 feet of scotch tape on them.

Okay, I have to ask....................
do you match your bows and gift tag to the wrapping paper??? that is one of my pet peeves....HAS to match, if there is a santa on the wrapping paper, must be one on the tag and the bow must be color co-ordinated....
I'm not helping am I???
do I sound like Nomad???:o

I enjoy wrapping gifts - if I'm not under pressure, I was under alittle pressure this year trying to get them all wrapped & sent to Seattle..
Yes - my wrapping paper & bow have to match - coordinate.

My sister finds it very funny to wrap presents up with as much tape as possible.
You get a present the size of a shoe box all nicely wrapped then after you take off the first layer of paper you are left with a layer of tape. You then remove that layer of tape and then remove the next layer of paper to reveal another layer of tape then paper then tape. This continues until you finally get to the CD. Was funny the first year but she has now been doing it over 20 years. :-5

I love wrapping pressies, just bought all my paper, tags n bows today (matching). Must admit to buying the sticky xmas labels for my kids presents for ease
My eldest daughter loves the bows more than the presents sometimes so ive bought some spectacular ones this year lol...
