As long as you've tried everything else.

This is all I could find for now:

link

Lots of sites say to pin them up but none seem to say how to do that.

How long is/was the hair on the outside of his ears?

Thank you for this comic relief.

I think a few people are trying to shake distressing images of your dog from their heads though. :wah:

OMG! What'd you do to that poor dog???? :wah:

I have plastic clips that would do the job... if you've got something stretchy like wide bandage wrap or any fabric that can be secure and won't slip... I'd cut out openings for the ears... just the ear opening not the entire ear and fasten it with a safety pin or something. You could even use duct tape over the fabric... another thing is those "lampshades" they use... then just light tape the ears up.

Maybe you could use like an ace bandage and wrap it around her neck/head then cut out some holes so her ears can breathe...might sound like work but hey!!! Atleast its not superglue!:p

some of those natural remedies sounded good but you have to be careful mixing them with prescriptions. The vinegar rinse sounds safe but I don't know what the eardrops are that you used already so you should talk to your vet about anything you might try.

Whether or not you tell them about the superglue is up to you ;)

What about velcro ?

You could attach a small piece of velcro to the outside of each ear and the top of the head on both sides. Then when you need to you can just flip them down.

The velcro has an adhesive side that should stick to hair pretty good.

Cute story...I had some friends that were going on vacation in Ecuador and they asked me to house sit. Eddie, the youngest put a box of roofing nails under the sheets in the bed Id be sleeping in.

He actually took the time to make sure all the points were facing up.

That Eddie ! :-4

and he said after she gets her ear infection undercontrol to start putting a combination of vinergar and alchohol in her ears...but that will be later...

Super glue was a great idea. You can just cut the hair that is holding them together when her ears are better. Labs are know for ear infections the vinegar and alchol works great. Happy Thanksgiving Guppy.. :D

My concern is the CAUSE of the ear infections... didn't your vet give you

ANY advice on prevention?

Look to diet. Cut out as much known triggers as you possibly can.

A biggie is corn.

If it were me, I'd probably go to Innova Evo, it has the very least

stuff in it. I'd do the changeover slowly though so you don't create

another problem of diarrhea in the dog.

If you don't want to do the Evo, Natural Balance makes a Duck and

Potato formula and also a sweet potato and venison formula.

All the stuff you're putting in those ears can eventually cause hearing

loss.http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm ... icleid=519

At almost 200 pounds, your lab sounds overweight, although it is difficult to

tell. But if you can't easily feel the ribs and your lab doesn't have a

"waist" I'd cut back on the calories. That's an even bigger health

problem than those ears.
