A Chinese inventor has developed a technique for growing his own furniture. The man, named only as Mr W'u by the China Morning Business newspaper, moulds elm branches into shape while the tree is still growing. He says it takes five years to grow a chair, but has one already at his home in Liaoning City and six more growing in a nearby field.
A growing business.
When a drunken German showed friends some hand grenades he'd bought at a street market in Bosnia, they didn't believe the weapons were real. So to test them the 36-year-old pulled the pin from one and tossed it out of the window of his Frankfurt flat, it exploded between two blocks of flats. Police arrived shortly after, and the German now faces illegal possession of explosives.
