Why do full grown men watch cartoons?

I am not saying all grown me watch cartoons, but some how it just seems so redneck! I am not trying to offend anyone, it is just so Tim Allen, Jeff Foxworthy.

I watch retro shows, but when a 44 year old man watches Sponge Bob Square Pants, and laughs, uh, its gettin alil to wierd for me.

Men watch cartoons because they have senses of humor. Like women who watch cartoons. I watch Spongebob. Why is it not ok for a man to watch it?

It takes brains to make a cartoon and brains to appreciate them.

What's wrong with men liking cartoons?

Cartoons and comic strips are a pure art form. They're for the quick witted- you either "get it" right away or not at all.

What kind did you like best? I had Archie and then those weird gothic/vampiric ones. I still have comics that cost 25 cents. I wonder if they're worth much.

what is the name of the cartoon show with the talking dog and the baby is such a smartalec? my grown boys never miss it....lol:wah: Family Guy??????

I love the old Loony Tunes cartoons. I don't watch much of the new stuff, although I did watch a piece of an episode of Bob becase of that man who tried to get it censored.

My fasination is with grown men and the Three Stooges. Why is that funny and Bugs Bunny is not? I love Bugs but don't care for the Stooges. I think they're comical but not rip roaring funny. But most men love the Stooges. I think it's cute :-4

Why not watch cartoons? Just because you grow up doesn't mean you have to give up the simple pleasures in life!

Honestly, I think men do this because they enjoy a little mindless entertainment. And who can blame them? I think we all enjoy it sometimes!

Many people make the mistake that all animated programming is for kids. Merry Melodies and Looney Tunes were originally screened in movie theatres before the main features (you got two movies back then) for an adult audience.

The Simpsons is is a sophisticated show that often goes over the heads of many of it's adult viewers, let alone kids. Kids like it because they can grasp Bart's rebellious attitude, but the show has many layers.

Spongebob Squarepants is aimed at the kiddie market, but it has enough "smarts" to appeal to adults. Vintage 'toons like Rocky & Bullwinkle, Underdog, Superchicken, George Of The Jungle, and Roger Ramjet were like that, too.

Stuff like South Park, Family Guy, and American Dad are strictly for adults.

I love South Park!

The Simpsons are pretty funny, too.

I :-4 most cartoons, Tom and Jerry, Sponge Bob, Family Guy the list goes on, Jim and I often sit watching the cartoons long after the kids have gone out the room It is quite embarrassing at times when I find one of us using the lines from the cartoons in the pub
